INT. Laverne's Apartment - Daytime

Laverne enter the apartment with the mail in her hand. She hung her purse on the closet door and walked over to the couch.

Laverne: Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill! Why do I keep gettin' mail from the guy across the street? Oh dandy! A note for me-o.

Laverne opened the letter.

Laverne: [CONT'D] "Dear Laverne, this chain letter is sent by one who cares, those who answer will have riches to spare. If you ignore this and break the chain, bad luck will follow you around like rain." I hate these things. I hate them with a passion. (mocking) Send it to your closest friends and then mail back and you get nothing. I'll just file this under important.

Laverne crinkled up the chain letter and threw it in the trash can.

Rhonda entered the apartment in a light blue evening gown.

Rhonda: Hi-ho.

Rhonda spun around.

Laverne: Whoa! Look at you!

Rhonda: This dress is going to get me discovered.

Laverne: Yeah, that dress is gonna get you arrested.

Rhonda: Whoo!

Laverne: It's beautiful though. What's the occassion?
