Projects Profiles

bullet Current M.Tech. Project:  Design and  development of synthesizable FPGA based STS-1 subsystem.

Project Guide:   Prof. V. K. Jain and Dr. Subrat Kar

Details:   The project deals with the design of STS-1 framer used in SONET. When the SONET signal is electrical in nature, it is known as synchronous transport level N (STS-N). After its conversion into optical pulses, it is known as optical carrier level N (OC-N). The smallest SONET frame is visualized as a two dimensional matrix of 9-rows-by-90-column bytes called STS-1 frame. The first 3 columns of STS-1 frame contain the transport overhead, which is overhead pertaining section and line and the byte capacity contained from fourth column to the last is called synchronous payload envelope (SPE).

bullet Project taken at undergraduate level:   Line Encryption/Decryption of Computer Text and Voice Signal

Details: The basis of this project is basically the stream ciphers. The Hardware accepts the Input bits in serial form on one line that can be taken from Computer’s serial port or any serial device, which has compatibility with TTL logic.

The project deals with the design of Encryption/Decryption Block, and key stream generator. We perform operation on Key Stream generator and Input bits to perform Encryption/Decryption. The project also gives the idea to implement new techniques to avoid some problems related with Clock Synchronization, Long Communication Link, and how to make it more and more efficient.
