Ardeths Tigress
Chapter 1 the story retold
I had told the story many times to others but no one believed my story or any of the others. They couldn’t believe that I had once be a tiger trapped in the desert oasis. Still the knew that tigers didn’t live in the desert. So all we did was sit and wait for the commanders on the warm summers day. We sat in front of them, we waited till one spoke.
“What is this about the story, of you three trapped in some animals body.” I looked around at Phoenix and Catalina then back to the commanders. “Well, do you wish to explain.” I looked at Phoenix and Catalina again.
“So you wish for us to tell our story to you.” I said to the commanders. They nodded.
“So then you can do what every one else has.” Phoenix raised her voice. They shook their heads no.
“No we wish to know of the story, so. .” But was soon cut off by Catalina who stood along with Phoenix.
“ So you intend to press charges for filling peoples heads with nonsense.” Catalina said back to the commanders who, they soon released they had figured out what they had been planning.
“That’s what I thought.” Phoenix said back to them. “Come on Nemisus.” She said to me. “You and the both of us know theirs only one who believed us and now he tends not to believe us.” I stood and looked at the commanders.
“Good day gentlemen, we have other matters to attend to.” I said and turned away.
“What matters” Ardeth stood. I looked back at him with sorrow filled eyes.
“Matters that don’t concern you.” I felt tears forming in the corners of my eyes and we turned and left the commanders tent.
“Well now.” One of the commanders said out loud “ How are we going to convict her if she wont tell. I mean she did commit a deadly act, and put the whole tribe in danger.” Ardeth looked at the commanders, they all looked back. He sighed and ran after us. The commanders watched and smiled.
“Nemisus.” He called as he ran out of the tent. “Nemisus wait. .” Phoenix stopped him and gave him a deadly look. He looked down at my friend with a glare and glare of warning. I soon stepped in front of her.
“Calm down Phoenix.” Phoenix looked at me with a shocked face. “Phoenix, Catalina go back to the tent.” Phoenix was about to complain. “Now!” they both turned and walked to the tent. I turned and looked up at Ardeth who still had his angry glare on. I looked around, took his hand and pulled him into his tent.
“What is with you.” I asked him. He just stood there angry looking at me. He closed his eyes and looked down at the ground. I sighed, then walked over and lifted his face to mine. His eyes slowly opened. I looked at him and the sorrow filled me, the tears formed in my eyes again only with more sorrow then of what I had when I had left the commanders tent. I ran my fingertips over his lips and sighed again. I started to tremble, the thing I had put him through pierced through my heart. He looked at me and sighed to himself then took my hand and pulled me closer into a hug. My tears flowed and I started to break down. He stood and held me, unable to let go. He sighed, the commanders wouldn’t listen, and everything was true. They didn’t believe. I tried to pull away but he didn’t let me. He held me for what seemed to be forever. Then he slowly pulled away from me and pulled me to a seat. I knew what he was planning to ask, he wanted to know more. I just didn’t know how to tell them what had happened.
