I do not believe that it's possible for an object to be intrinsically beautiful. Thus to say, a flower sitting alone in a field has absolutely no beauty to it what-so-ever, without something else bestowing upon it the title of "beauty." Beauty I do not believe is a quality that an object has simply because "it is." We may have in our minds a set standard of what beauty is, the qualification of beauty or even precisely what is or is not beautiful. These though are merely representations in our mind of what pleases are senses and being that they are from our own mind, it is impossible for the object to which we denounce the title of "beautiful" to, to actually in itself be beautiful.
Example (for I KNOW I've been making little to no sense lately): A boat is an object for the sea. This is inherent to it's function. To say though, that the boat is a work of art is to qualify the boat by our own standards. The boat, for it's function of floating on the water, has no inbred characteristic of beauty or art. It is us, with our preconceived definition of what art or beauty is, that denotes the boat as beautiful.
