Comparing Science and Religion

Just to be scientifically correct (Science is my field of expertise.. I'm a biology and chemistry major), I must say that science does not prove what is right or what is wrong. It DOES say what is wrong, and what is PROBABLE to be correct. There is absolutely NO way to prove that a scientific theory is true under ALL circumstances, only that it is false under this one or that (theory of falsification).

As for religion. I believe that comparing it in such a way to science is belittling the position of science. Religion is faith based. Science is fact based. To compare science to religion would be to say that A. science is based on faith or B. that religion is based on fact.. neither which are true statements. For example, it would be like saying that between Tony Gwynn and Steve Young that Tony Gwynn has to be a bad player at baseball because he's horrible at football compared to Steve Young. Make sense?

Back to science. As well, most of the common theories that they teach students are KNOWN to be false. Theories such as Newton's three laws, Einstein's Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, even the good ole PV=nRT (common gas law) are provably (and proven) to be false *under certain circumstances*
