Living The Life

Buddhism: "The thoughtless man, though versed in the Doctrine but not a doer of it, has no share in the religious life, but is like a cowherd counting the cows of others." (Dhammapada 19)

Christianity: "By works a man is justified, and not by faith alone." (James 2:24)

"As the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without good works is dead." (James 2:26)

Hindu: "The faith of each believer conforms itself to what he truly is." (Bhagavad-Gita, Book of Doctrines, Chapter XVII)

Judaism: "It hath been told thee, O man, what is good; and what the Lord doth reuire of thee; only to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with they God." (Micah)

Islam: "We shall unite the true believers with those of their descendants who follow them in their faith, and shall not deny them the reward for their good works: each man is the hostage of his own deeds." (Koran 52:21)

"When a man dies people will ask property has he left behind him. But the angels who examine him in the grave will ask: 'What good deads hast thou sent before thee?'" (Sermon of Muhammad)

Zoroastrianism: "On three excellent things be ever intent: good thoughts, good words, and good deeds." (Vendidad XVIII, 17)

Baha'i: "The essence of faith is fewness of words and abundance of deeds." (Baha'i World Faith 141)

Thus these religions put a high emphasis on the action of the followers consiting of the right thoughts, actions, intentions and on moderation.
