I believe that two concepts that have become misinterpreted are truth and pleasure.
Truth is what people say that they want, but pleasure is what they strive for.
So should we just accept that "pleasure" is the ultimate form of living? This would be what is implied by saying that lying is justifiable in some situations. Tell the person what they WANT to hear, rather than what is true. Tell the employer what they WANT to hear, that you may be hired.
This is living by pleasure rather than truth. What do you live for?
