Truth and Lies

Endless regurgitation of words
Cycling around in a myriad of phrases
With a few words I can profess my love
And then turn the same syllables to pain

Mind you the truth is farther beyond
It’s a senseless journey to make
To search for that which will never be found
For such a thing that you can’t replace

Life, is an illusion of a constant dream
Finding solitude nestled beyond hope
Lay beside me, my precious one
That I may smother you in my lies

To know that one is amidst a dream
Is to no longer be fully sleeping
A revelation I suppose that’s long past
But at least I know my heart untrue
