As another year ends we look back on a busy twelve months for José. When we were young fans did anyone think we would one day be enjoying the music of a UN Honorary Ambassador but that was the title bestowed on him on October 20th this year.
For most of us the highlight had to be "Senor Bolero 2" even after all these years he can still surprise us!
Of course the highlight for many antipodeans may have been a live performace as José toured Australia extensiviely and did a well publicised and received gig in New Zealand; then it was on to Hong Kong where he became the first musician to play after the SARS outbreak. Sadly we Europeans got little opportunity to see him live with just two gigs in Austria but, José has been "doing the rounds" of many well known venues in the USA and Puerto Rico where thousands HAVE seen live performances.
There have also been many TV appearances including his interview with Dr Oz and the Telemundo Christmas special and as usual José has been working hard to help others with a range of charity events.
So it only remains for Alan and me to wish you a Happy New Year! Look out for our new style news page next week to kick off 2004; and remember that when you want information on José we are usually the first with the correct facts!
