Here are several pieces of my work done in Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Photoshop 6.0. Please click on the thumbnails to view the original images. Volkswagen Car Done using Adobe Photoshop Elements Explanation of Techniques For this project, I used the polygonal lasso tool. I clicked and held my mouse button and carefully drag along the rear of the car (I started with the back bumper) to the top, down over the front, back around the front wheel, under the shadow, and under the rear wheel, finishing at the back bumper again. Don't worry if your selection isn't perfect. If some parts did not get selected that should have been, I did this: With the dashed selection outline still active (the “marching ants” crawling around the Beetle), hold the Shift key and add to your selection simply by lassoing those little parts you missed the first time. You can do this any number of times. If you selected areas that you did not want to select, I just held the Alt/Option key and use the Lasso to similarly subtract the offending areas. You can do this any number of times until you've selected just the parts of the image you want. Once I finished tracing it, I selected "Inverse" under the select menu. After, I pressed delete to delete the background. Then I traced the outline of the windows using the polygonal lasso tool. After I filled it in using the gradient tool. With the selected area still on the screen, reselect just the car by choosing "Inverse" from the select menu. Then I chose Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal to make the car facing ohter direction. Finally, I chose Select > Deselect.
