Author’s Note:  Well, I’ve been on a little vacation from the FNS and so have Moya and the crew.  Here’s what the gang’s been up to!

[Synthetic gray sand sprays through the air across D’Argo’s face.  He along with John are bare-chested and sorely losing a game.  Rygel is of little help, laughing harder than anything.  He has stationed his throne sled in the center of the small court that John framed for the players.  A long strand of gooey red sea-weed like material tied to two tall fiery orange trees on either side represents the net.  Chiana giggles on the other side of the net as Aeryn nods with confidence.  Jool places her hands on her hips and smiles. Stark is stationed on the left center of the court, officiating the game.  Moya and Talyn are hovering above a sparkling green ocean, dipping into the water and splashing each other.  Crais is lying out on the sand near the water naked, soaking in the rays of the three golden suns positioned high in the sky above.  A bungalow is stationed nearby, with strands of blue grass draping over a few severed orange trees to serve as a bar.  Pilot is seated at this bar, drinking a large concoction of mixed pink alcohol.  A round brown sphere lands at his tendrils and he scoops an extra arm down to throw it back to the crew.]

Chiana:  [Calls out over the soothing crashing of waves.]  “Thanks Pilot!”

[Pilot mumbles a response.  Rygel decides he is bored with this game and heads over to drink with Pilot.  The rest of the players take a rest on the beach, enjoying their relaxing break from The Fellip Nectar Stand and the Uncharted Territories.]

John:  [Rests arms behind head and lies next to Aeryn.]  “Man, The Big Bangalow is better than any place on Earth!”  [Aeryn smothers some lotion on John.  John smiles at her and they share a quick kiss.]

Stark:  [Leans over from the stump he is seated on.]  “Is the lotion effective?  It’s specifically designed to prevent radiation burns from the three suns.”

Rygel:  [Suddenly begins to shout in panic.]  “My skin!  My skin!  It’s melting!”

[Stark and D’Argo rush to Rygel as John sits up to watch.  Rygel’s skin is indeed steaming.  D’Argo throws Rygel into the nearby ocean and the Hynerian is instantly relieved.]

Stark:  “I forgot to mention that the lotion was made for the intended use on thin, sensitive skin types.  Sorry, Ryge.”

Rygel:  [Far off voice.]  “Frelling dren….”  [The rest of his words are swept away with the slight breeze.]

D’Argo:  [Allows Chiana to begin massaging his shoulders.]  “We should really visit this place more often.”

Chiana:  [Smiles flirtatiously at D’Argo.]  “Maybe we should even stay here.”

Aeryn:  [Curls bottom lip in disgust.]  “Ugh!  And live in a temperature fluctuating atmosphere restricted to only the land and not space?  I don’t think so.  Besides. The heat serum that Stark has prepared for me will only last so long.  I prefer the coldness of space.”

Jool:  [Wipes away sand that has collected in her red curly hair.]  “I agree.  This place is disgusting and dirty!  Whoever came up with this drenhole anyway?”

John:  “Hey, I only named it The Big Bangalow because the bartender told me this was the official center of the universe.  Sides, it’s a cool, happening place.”

Crais:  [From down the beach a ways.]  “I heard the Pilot and the Leviathans are playing later.”

Pilot:  [Lifts head, nearly knocking Rygel off his throne sled in the process.]  “Did someone say my name?”

Aeryn:  [Rolls eyes.]  “No, Pilot.  Go back to your drink.”

John:  “I can’t even remember the last time I’ve been able to completely relax like this.  We’ve gotta come here more often, guys.”

D’Argo:  [Nods head in agreement and flashes a look to Chiana.]  “Definitely.”  [Chiana chuckles and begins massaging D’Argo’s tendrils.  D’Argo is in complete bliss.]

Jool:  “Where’s the ‘infamous’ Storage Facility when you need one?”  [Turns head away in disgust.]

John:  “Hey, anyone up for a dip?”  [Sits up and glances at his fellow crewmates.  Nearly all of them turn to look at him.  Crais sits up and Pilot turns.  Even Moya and Talyn stop in mid-air.  John shakes his head and laughs.]  “A swim.”

[Everybody resumes their previous activities, muttering words like “fahrbot”.  John shrugs and heads for the water’s edge.]

Rygel:  “I wouldn’t if I were you.”

John:  [Stops and turns around.]  “Now what?”

Stark:  “It’s acid.”

John:  [Jumps and backs away from water.]  “Ah crap!”

[Everyone begins to laugh at John’s reaction.  John smiles and scoops up Aeryn.]

Aeryn:  “John!  Put me down!  I can easily take you out right here if you don’t!”

[John rushes into the waves and throws Aeryn in before she has a chance to carry out her threat.  Chiana and D’Argo laugh at the two.  Aeryn surfaces, her hair drenched.  She pretends to be angry and swiftly knocks John’s feet out from underneath him.  John splashes into the water, but grabs Aeryn’s arm, bringing her along with him.  Talyn hovers above Crais, excited.]

Crais:  [Growls.]  “Talyn!  You’re blocking my third sun!  Move immediately.”

[Talyn sadly moves on but then is surprised by his mother.  She dives into the water and throws up a huge wave.  The wave cascades onto Talyn but strikes Crais as well.  Crais blinks his eyes in surprise and disgust and remains in place, the shock of the event sinking in.]

Stark:  “What is John doing now?”  [Peers out at ocean to see John scoop Aeryn onto a flat slab of orange wood.  He swims towards a large wave created by Moya’s maneuver.]

Chiana:  “Oh!  He’s going to smurf!”

D’Argo:  [Mouths word in confusion.]  “What is that?”

Chiana:  “He described it to me.  Something like hovering on a wall of moving water.  He does it all the time on his planet.”

[The suns begin to sink closer to the horizon as the crew and Leviathans enjoy their day at the beach.  Another game of beach volleyball, UT style, sets off.  Pilot is completely wasted as well as Rygel. Stark is now on John and D’Argo’s team.   With four arms to play with, Pilot is his own team.  The court is set so the female court is a third and the male court is two thirds of the entire playing area.  Another net is strung up to represent Pilot’s portion of the court. Rygel sits on the side lines to laugh at the players’ many mistakes.  Crais has fallen asleep on the beach.  Moya and Talyn have decided to rest on a shore nearby.]

Chiana:  [Spikes sphere onto opposite court and scores.]  “Woohoo!  Girls win once again.  And there’s three against four.  Pretty nice odds, don’t you think?”

D’Argo:  [Groans.]  “You only won because the suns were in our eyes, not yours.  Can we switch sides, John?”

John:  [Grabs sphere and throws it back and forth between his hands.]  “I say we add one more rule.”

Jool:  “Ugh!  Any more rules and I may just stay here when it’s time to leave.”

John:  “The rule is that the losers have to kiss the winners.”

Rygel:  “Ugh!”

Stark:  “All of them?”

D’Argo:  “Hey, we’ll be the winners, Stark.”

Aeryn:  [Winks at John who reflects the motion.]  “Excellent.  Let’s play.”

[John throws the sphere into the air and spikes it towards the women.  Chiana bounces it off her shoulders and the sphere strikes Jool’s hips.  She hits it towards Aeryn.  The men watch anxiously, frightened by the efficiency and speed of the women.  Aeryn receives the ball, pretends to hit it towards Pilot, and then slams it over the net.  John dives into the sand while Stark runs back and forth at the back of the court.  Pilot rushes to the ball and collides with D’Argo.  The ball lands in front of John, spraying sand into his face.  The women scream and shout in victory.  They then cross the net and demand kisses.]

Stark:  [Gulps.]  “I wish I had never agreed to play.”

D’Argo:  “I don’t mind this a bit.”  [Grabs Chiana and gives her and extremely long kiss.]

John:  “Me neither.”  [Aeryn approaches and the two engage in a long kiss as well.]

Jool:  [Pauses in front of Stark and Pilot.]  “What else are you guys going to make me do?”  [Curls lower lip in disgust and stalks off.  Pilot follows her, waiting for his kiss.]

Rygel:  “Looks like my work here is done.”  [Pats hands and heads to the bar.]

Crais:  [Wakes from a quick nap and yawns.]  “Hmmm.  The second sun is almost setting.  I better….AUGH!”

[Everyone turns to see why Crais has screamed.  They all begin to laugh uncontrollably.  Even Moya and Talyn are laughing by now, even though Talyn had tried to save Crais earlier.  Crais painfully stands up and glances down at his bare skin.  He has turned completely red from head to toe.]

John:  “Yep.  Sun will do that to you.” [Aeryn then playfully squeezes John where it counts.  His face turns red and he smiles.]

Aeryn:  “Just proving your point!”

[The crew and the ships relish in the lasting sun of the day.  They drink and soak in the lasting rays.  The third sun slowly sets and the crew prepares to head back to outer space.  The Big Bangalow was a great vacation and they’ll be back soon!]

I’d like to do a little shameless self-promotion here.  My latest fanfic, “The Farscape Movie: Destination Unknown” is almost complete.  This enormous fanfic deals with some of the most pressing issues up to date that the Farscape crew faces.  I guess you could sum up the fanfic into one phrase.  Let’s see, how about this:

Inner struggles, black holes, selfish needs, and one nasty Scarran intermix in a battle against Moya and Talyn to save none other than the Milky Way and Earth herself.

I hope everyone likes it because this was an extremely hard fanfic to write and I myself was dealing with inner struggles at the time.
