THE FELLIP NECTAR STAND Meet the Author
Edition: LeatherGirl
(Hey, gotta interview somebody, don’t I? Better to interrogate myself first just to work the bugs out!)
Author: LeatherGirl
Disclaimer: I do not own Farscape or anything associated with Farscape. I just tell stories J.

[LeatherGirl walks into the Fellip Nectar Stand wearily, dressed completely in leather, as always. She had just finished writing her latest work, Revelations. She immediately spies Pilot at the booth to her right and scoots in to join him. He is drinking from four flasks of Raslac and orders up another for LeatherGirl. She welcomes it graciously.]
Pilot: “I’m pleased to see you made it, LeatherGirl.” [Nods head at LeatherGirl and takes drinks from each of his flasks. LeatherGirl snickers at the sight, trying to hide her rude reaction. A drink is placed before LeatherGirl and she is easily distracted.]
LeatherGirl: “Thanks for the drink…I needed it!” [Takes a quick chug.]
Pilot: “Let’s proceed. You are a Farscape Fanfic writer, whatever that may be. What was your motivation…how did you start out?” [Reads scribbled notes on a notepad before him.]
LeatherGirl: [Eyeing notepad.] “Crichton’s writing, I presume?” [Raises eyebrows as Pilot shamefully nods affirmatively.] “I understand. After my last story, he’s gotta be hurting!”
Pilot: “One thing at a time, LeatherGirl.” [Stern but with a smirk…he’s already been drinking more than anyone’s normal share.]
LeatherGirl: [Rubs chin thoughtfully.] “I started out in September to be exact. Just wanted to be a part of the fun. But, seriously, I grew up in a solar system far, far from the Uncharted Territories. One day I happened upon Farscape. I couldn’t get enough of the show and I went online to find some more information on it. I discovered the world of scapers. I felt a need to create more Farscape adventures for the midst of the great drought of the year 2000 A.D. Earth terms mind you. There were so many other fanfics out there at the time that I actually was inspired by them and knew it would not be easy to write anything as good. I listened to a lot of instrumental/moody music as I wrote as well…currently the soundtrack to the Gladiator.” [Takes a deep breath and another chug of her Raslac.]
Pilot: “Interesting…Wh….”
LeatherGirl: [Breaths out after long drink.] “Aaaahhhh.” [Sets down her drink loudly and smiles with satisfaction.] “Damn. Bartender, more for the both of us please!” [Looks at Pilot, who is looking at her with annoyance.] “Sorry, Pilot, please continue.”
Pilot: “As I was saying. This new series of yours is quite intriguing.” [Waitress (yes, the four-armed one) places five flasks on the table.] “How did you come up with the whole idea?”
LeatherGirl: [Turns more serious as she sips from her Raslac slowly.] “The ‘I’m Frelling With Your Minds Series’ consists of four stories. Originally, I wrote the first one, Mind Games, just to explore what might happen to John Crichton and his shipmates at the end of season 2 using hints and suggestions we’ve seen in the latter part of this year’s season. I researched for technical aspects on any Farscape related website I could find and reviewed episodes. I got a taste for the writing. I then decided to do more…three more in fact, so that they could act just like four final episodes. I like to write my stories so they flow like actual episodes, so that a reader can actually picture them. I’ve even embedded references and clues in my stories…one just has to know what to look for!”
Pilot: “Yes, the stories are quite vivid, I must say. Why did you have to reveal a dead pilot who suffered so in the second story, Illusions?” [Face turns sour as he pictures the poor pilot in his mind.]
LeatherGirl: “All in the plot line, Pilot.” [Grins mysteriously.] “All in the plot line.”
Pilot: “How long does it take to create a story with such detail and twisted plots?” [Eyes a DRD zooming past them wearily. He always had to keep those little buggers in check.]
LeatherGirl: “That depends on what’s going on in real life. But I’d have to say around one week. When I write, I do it all as close together as possible or I lose sight of the purpose I’m going after. I brainstorm but when I write, I almost never follow my original plot line. I let the story take me wherever it wants to go.”
Pilot: “Sounds like something Crichton would do.” [Grunts.]
LeatherGirl: [Smiles warmly and glances around.] “Say, he’s not anywhere nearby is he?”
Pilot: “Sorry, LeatherGirl, he’s still re-cooperating from your last story, remember?” [Brings up her comment from earlier with sarcasm.] “Now, what is each story about, generally?”
LeatherGirl: [Rubs hands together.] “Thought you’d never ask! Mind Games is about Scorpius winning in evilness for once, well actually he always does, but anyway I basically reveal John Crichton’s beginning source of madness. Illusions just dove in to the rest of the crew’s struggles and added some new twists to the series. I brought in a new character…a Leviathan. Then, in Deceptions, everything takes a turn for the worse with no relief in sight. Finally, in Revelations, most things come to light and are somewhat resolved and I leave the readers with a very huge fight sequence followed by a very…interesting ending.”
Pilot: “What’s with all those titles? Are you trying to drive everyone into insanity like you drove me and the others on Moya in your stories?” [Pilot raises his voice slightly. He blushes with embarrassment, glancing around at the few other aliens in the bar seeing thankfully that no one heard him.]
LeatherGirl: “I’m just frelling with your minds.” [Smiles smugly. Pilot growls. LeatherGirl takes sip of Raslac and patiently waits for Pilot to continue. Pilot takes sips from each of his four drinks.]
Pilot: “Do you have a favorite story, scene, or even a quote from the series?” [Raises an eyebrow at LeatherGirl, expecting a straight answer.]
LeatherGirl: “I think Revelations is my favorite, but Deceptions comes real close. My favorite scene would almost have to be…hmmm, that’s a hard one. There’s so many. I’m going to have to say the fight sequence in Revelations between John and Scorpius. Very heated. And as for a quote I’ve got tons of them not just one that stands above the rest.”
Pilot: “My favorite line, that I got to say of course, has to be in Revelations…the fire and fuel line was great! Anything with me in it destined to be excellent!” [LeatherGirl nods in agreement, though she is secretly substituting John’s name into the last statement.] “What was the hardest part about writing this series?”
LeatherGirl: “Not being influenced by other works and the actual show. But I managed quite well. I just tried to stay immune from things until I was finished with the story. The greatest challenge in the end was having to actually sit down and start a new scene.”
Pilot: [Nods head in agreement, as if he completely knew what she was talking about. He drank some more Raslac and smiled.] “Any more fanfics in the works? Will the series have more additions or will you start a whole other series to follow?”
LeatherGirl: [Takes another drink and grins.] “There will definitely be more after the series…some issues just haven’t been resolved, you know?” [Winks and grins even more shall we say…evilly.] “I might look into doing some other quick little fanfics, but my latest project with writing the Fellip Nectar Stand editions has kept me busy enough.”
Pilot: [Nods indefinitely.] “Ah, yes. The twisted author moves on. Why didn’t you leave us with some breath-taking cliffhanger in the end of Revelations? You could have really made scapers go crazy.”
LeatherGirl: “If I had done that, then I would have had trouble mixing what really happens at the end of season two with what I have left to resolve in Revelations. Besides, I did kind of leave them hanging…they just don’t know it yet!”
Pilot: [Downs all his drinks after a frustrating sigh.] “Is there anything else you’d like to mention to scapers who might be following your works?”
LeatherGirl: [Camera view zooms close in on LeatherGirl’s evil twisted face.] “Yes.” [Laughs evilly but tries to hold it in long enough to say one last thing.] “I’m frelling with your minds, scapers!!! Frelling with your minds! Mwa ha ha ha!”
[Laughing echoes into the starry universe and Pilot is heard sighing impatiently and ordering an entire barrel of Raslac…for each of his arms to hold.]
