Literal Equations

Ever since you were a kid, you have heard formulas!! You use formulas for everything!! Area, Perimeter, volume, you get the drill!! Well literal equations are formulas!! So now you can find out what all those formulas were!!! So here goes!!!

Area is A=bh (base*height)

So what if you needed to find height, not Area?? This is how!! A=BH Divide the BH by the B> Watch A/B=H/B

Now you are given the equation A/B=H!! You've got it!! That is the formula for Height!!!

Lets try something a bit harder!! Like p=2l+2w.We are solving for L!! First off we take and subtract that 2w from both sides. Divide that result by the 2 sitting beside the L!! That gives you the equation P/2-2w/2=L!!! Good Job!!

So now you know what to do!! You can only put together alike variables!! And get the variable you are solving for on one side and the other junk on the opposite side!! Don't worry about numbers because that comes later!!! Have fun!!
