Writing An Equation For A Line

ex: m = -4, b = 0

(Your goal is to make an equation out of the m and b given)
m = slope = -4
b = Y-int. = 0

(m stands for slope and b stands for the Y-intercept)

  Slope Intercept Form
Y = -4x + 0 (This is the positioning for a standard line in Slope Intercept form. Y=mx+b)
Y = -4x (The 0 is irrelevant and has been taken off for your answer)

  Standard Form
4x + Y = 0 (This is the positioning for a standard line in Standard Form. The X infront can't have a fraction nor can it be negative.)
        Y = -4x + 0 (when preparing to graph it remember that it properly graphs like this)

  Point Slope Form
  Y - 0 = -4( X - 0) (This is the positioning for a standard line in Point Slope Form. This is a great way of taking the m and the b and figuring out the Slope Intercept Form or Standard Form for any line.)
        Y = -4x + 0 (After simplyfying it you get the basic Slope Intercept Form)
4x + Y = 0 (Taking the -4x to the other side gives you the Standard Form of the line)
