Eternal
rest grant unto her, Lord . . .
Ms.
BIENVENIDA SAN JOSE,
Department Head of Pilipino during our
time,
went ahead of us to the Father's house
prepared for those who believed
and lived their faith.
She was like a dotting mother to me
when I was in third and fourth year high
school.
She brought out the best in me:
she made me an award-winning
writer, orator and extemporaneous
public speaker.
She was the woman
behind my victory as regional champion
in Biglaang Talumpatian in 1977,
Manila Champion in 'Araw ng Maynila' Timpalak
Talumpatian in 1976 among others.
She trained me untiringly.
Most of all, she was supportive of my
decision to enter the seminary.
She also trained Rosanto Misa and Edna
Adriano in Pinoy Declamation.
They were later proclaimed Prinsipe at
Prinsesa ng Bigkasan of District I.
She would always be remembered as the beautiful
department head
with a husky voice.
In her coffin she still looked visibly
beautiful inspite of
her old age (she was in her eighties).
I think she is in some class pictures in
our THS Graduation souvenir
yearbook.
.
. . and let perpetual light shine on her forever. Amen.
