Fenerbahce : 0 - Olympique Lyon : 1 After the poor start to the Champions League against Barcelona,Fenerbahce lost second consecutive home game against the French team Olympique Lyon. In front of the empty tribunes , both team fought well but couldn't manage to play good football. Fenerbahce was close to score twice with Ali Günes but couldn't. Defender Delmotte gave the French team lead with a free header in 89th minute. After the match some of the supporters wanted Mustafa Denizli to resign while some were standing behind him.
Mustafa Denizli : " What a pity ! " Fenerbahce manager Mustafa denizli told the press that his team did eveything against Olympique Lyon to win the match. "Our opponent won the match without creating any chances. We could only lose this game by this way and it happened. What a pity" said Denizli. He added that he'll try to find the reasons of the bad results immediately and win further matches. Experienced manager said "We'll fight till the end to qualify from this group.We have targets and there is enough time and matches to put things in order".
Supporters fought after the match After the game lost 1-0 against Olympique Lyon angry supporters fought. Approximately 100 men who watched the game in the new builded tribune , came together in the street behind the stadium. They attacked to the group which was in the numbered seated tribune and standing behind Mustafa Denizli and showing their respect to him. The police tried to stop the argument and after a short tag , the angry group broke up , shouting against Mustafa Denizli.
For the first time this season Ümit Özat couldn't find himself a place in the starting eleven. After being purchased from Genclerbirligi for 1.5 Million $ , he was an important first team player and selected to the national team. His poor plays against FC Barcelona and Galatasaray , made Mustafa Denizli replace him with Mert Meric , the sweeper of the campaign winning squad last season.
Preparations for the weekend game against Denizli For the league game against Denizli on Saturday at Sükrü Saracoglu , Fenerbahce will start the preparations today. After 3 consecutive defeats in 7 days , this match will be a survivor for both Mustafa Denizli and the players. The 22 consecutive league wins at Saracoglu is the main force of Fenerbahce , altough it can be a difficulty. All teams coming to the temple of Yellow Canaries fight hard to make things more difficult for Fenerbahce and to be the first to end the home run.
