Ogün Temizkanoglu has played as stopper, full-back, wing-back and midfield anchor for Fenerbahçe SK,
but is usually employed as sweeper for the national team. Born in Germany, he was invited to join the Turkish national
side at the age of 19. He played in eight of Turkey’s EURO 2000 qualifying matches, and was in the squad for the
finals. Vastly experienced, Ogün started his career with Trabzonspor in 1992 and quickly became an established
part of the team. He spent seven years at the Avni Aker stadium before moving to Fenerbahçe SK. A consistent
performer, he tends to weigh in with a handful of goals every season. He hit six in 30 matches during the title-winning
campaign of 2000/01. |
