When I arrived in Mississippi, it was just as I expected. Todd wasn't at the gate waiting for me! OK, so my plane was 15 minutes early, to be fair to him (for once!) :)

I had a great time during my time there. Todd and his Mom Shirley, NOT to mention his 'bro' Max, were the perfect hosts! :)

Me and Todd ate out mostly (or got take-away!) which I had fore-warned him NOT to do!!! Actually managed to get some fairly balanced meals there though! :)

We went on the river (but not the river!) one Sunday afternoon, as Todd's not so li'l bro Thad has a boat. We had a good time, but sighting a few crocs wouldn't have gone amiss!!! (I was looking forward to that! :P) I sat back and relaxed (-croc watched!) whilst the 'boys' did a bit of fishing.. not that they caught anything! :)

Right : Thad, Todd and Brennan, the fishermen :)

Below : A few of the party guests

During my time in Mississippi, Thad's son Brennan turned five. Naturally we went to his birthday party, along with Todd's wonderful girls :) Seeing all those kids together in one place was sheer HEAVEN for me!!! All good things must come to an end though...

Many things stick in my mind after my time in Jackson. I saw hummingbirds for the first time in my life which was kewl! I also got to taste some of their 'native' foods (including drinking iced tea thanks to Todd, which tastes SO much nicer than it sounds!), and compare the presentation of food in one restaurant to what I had been used to serving back home!!! (No names shall be mentioned, but it tasted good anyway!) Probably the most striking thing about my time there, though, was Todd's family. They are all such nice people, that I could have stayed forever... if Shirley let me and didn't make me return to England to start my new job!!!
