MOVING PLATFORM B 44, 45

*melted after a dead swoon*

The cast was good in May, now they are even better! I can only say that I’ve never seen a more enthralling performance (ok, I know, I say that every time, bear with me, I’m hyped up ;D). The lighting wasn’t as it ought to be though - the machine that makes the fog that fills the auditorium before the show didn’t work at all.

Andrew Wright made a very good Admetus - he looked great and I very much enjoyed seeing him play. He doesn’t have the famous “Clinton smirk”, but I do love his interpretation. He has a haunting Macavity voice ;D.

Gareth Snook as Bus/Gus/Growltiger again. His act hasn’t changed much (this is NOT an Evita pun ;D), it’s excellent, he’s funny and all, but, as I’ve probably said before, I still prefer Peter Bishop in the role.

In fact, I might just say that most of the cast retained the wonderful performances that I saw in May, yet there were some that really stuck out imo. First of all - the kittens: Joe Ryan as Billy. He’s cute, very slim and not as muscular as some of the other guys, he looks all arms at legs at times, quite lanky - but he’s as energetic, mischievous and lovable as they come! His make up is wonderful, very detailed. We got to see it close up - what a treat! A tiny brown spot at the left hand corner of his mouth (as seen by audience) and his eyelids are both white (even on the brown side of his face) and esp. the black lines are very intricately drawn. During the Ball as he was dancing, he almost hit Misto (who was right behind him) twice - Jake just grinned, making a step further back and went on.

Carbucketty - well, I adore Jye (Frasca), he’s so adorable. He sidled up beside us, scaring the woman sitting in front of me out of her wits, then jumping back as if surprised by her reaction. So sweet. And he smiled at me *melted*.

Etcy - Sarah-Jane (Honeywell) is just adorable and lovable. Your typical fun loving kit, always grinning and making faces during ‘Gus’, fooling around. Just before the end credits she came to me and grinned, putting her hands on my lap. *grins* She’s really small and slight, I have no idea where she takes all the energy from and the strength - those cartwheel/back flips during the ball make me dizzy just from looking!

Mungo and Rumple (Adrian Edmeades & Lynsey Britton) had the house down. Perfect teamwork and wonderful voices, which could be heard clearly over the music.

Oh - and to my great surprise I fell irrevocably in love with Munkustrap. I couldn’t help it - Kenny Linden had me the moment he walked on stage. Though he has the same prompts and says the same lines David Ashley said, he delivers them differently, making for a totally smooth, heart-warming interpretation instead of seeming aloof, haughty and arrogant. He’s a great dancer and his voice had me swooning. It’s divine. He recited ‘Invitation’ (and I mean ‘recited’, as a piece of beautiful poetry ought to be recited!) - mesmerized me. Other than that he is suave in his movements and elegant at all times. When the queens sing “Jennyanydots” the second time round… I remember David trying to sing it himself and getting all worked up because they were faster. Well, just suffice to say that Kenny left them to sing, looking back just a moment with a sweet smile of acknowledgement. He’s marvellous, just what I think the tabby ought to be ;D *faints*

Well, since Munku was so absolutely perfect, all that I needed to enjoy ‘Old D’ for a change was an equally good Tugger. (I do love the song, even though Deut isn’t exactly one of the characters I particularly like). I must confess that John Partridge was a shock. Not a disappointment - I had expected him to be fairly aloof, wild and arrogant. So he was. He doesn’t glide about as he dances, yet I admire his skill. I don’t think he is graceful, but very good indeed all the same. What really shocked me was his singing though. Having seen the vid (and listened to ‘Rent’) I know him to possess a wonderful voice.

He showed he had it during ‘Old D’ (yes, I was very happy with that song indeed!) and I quite liked his interpretation of the ‘Misto song’. But ‘RTT’ - that hurt. Literally. The first “meow” is usually to draw attention. Jason (Gardiner) was hard to bear, but John was a killer. I heard him and thought “Oh no! Not like that?!” He seemed to make his way through the entire number shouting more than singing - that’s just not my thing. What I cherish is that he sings “prospers and thrives” during ‘Old D’ - call me picky and fishing for detail, but hey, I was forced to learn grammar at school, some of it still sticks!

What I have to hand to him - he was funny. My fave gesture was probably when he curled parts of his wig around his fingers during ‘Memory’, boredom written across his face. (since this isn’t one of the songs I like too much, I could relate ;D).

Anyway, John was very aloof, the only real interaction I saw today was with Bomba and Misto. He held his hand out to help the latter up to the pipe before ‘Gus’ and then winked at him *argh* He also grinned madly as Old D sat down very slowly with a sigh and the mention of the “tottery legs” made him smirk even more.

John also has a habit of fluffing his mane very loudly - you can hear it, mind you! And he’s constantly in the limelight, even if he isn’t centre stage. You can’t miss him, he’s THERE from the moment he sets foot on stage. Very much the Tugger.

Still I do have to confess that Neil Reynolds remains my fave overall Tugger, Jason holds second place at the moment - surprisingly.
Misto and Carby were cuddling a few times and Al got his moment snuggling up close to Quaxo as well during ‘Gumbie’ *sooooo cute*

Jason (Gardiner) btw was the grand surprise of the day. His Victor is the best. He was grinning all the time, jumping about and his dancing is, as I’ve already known, impeccable and energetic. I love his make up too - it looks neat - he has dark brown/white/black stripes at the sides of his cheeks and on his chin. He was really great, during the first Macavity scare (after ‘Bustopher’), he first hid under the hat (which he had reluctantly brought to the mattress not too long before I might add) and then left the stage, stumbling a bit as the hat was still covering his eyes (almost ran over Carby ;D).

He also did a very credible Tugger impression just before leaving the stage after the credits - he does know how to dance and as for hip swinging - wow! I do think he looks much better in his Victor costume than in the Tugger one, probably just me.

Carbucketty is cuddly, did I mention that? He sat near me after having scratched Griz’ hand, his expression one of sympathy, regret and a certain cluelessness, as if he weren’t sure if what he had done had really been nothing more than a kitten prank.

And now for the proverbial cream. The evening started with Misto (Jake Brent) blinking green cats’ eyes at us. *sighs* And then we first truly saw him during ‘Jellicle Songs’ - he has indeed lost weight. He looked slim enough to me in May, but now…well, hard to believe, he’s even slimmer than before *gasps*. I don’t think he was overly thin though - suffice to say he’s to die for, and not only as a black cat *winks*. His voice is, apart from Kenny’s the one I enjoy hearing the most I must confess (I love John’s voice just as much as long as he’s singing btw), since I tend to fall for soft, melodious and rich voices.

Jake was a whirlwind, dancing with Jye (Frasca) during the Jellicle Ball - the music was faster than in May I think - and they worked so well together, almost flawless. Then there were Misto’s spins at the Ball - I couldn’t count, it would have been a sacrilege to spoil the picture he made *grins*. I did count the conjuring turns though, 34 I think, though I can’t be absolutely sure.

Jake’s Misto make up is very nice indeed too, and his costume is lovely, the jacket seemed a little looser than in May though *surprise* - Al and Victor lifted him without any problem today, glad to see that. It’s one of those things that really worry me (just after the being let down on the rope thingy…)

And the ‘Misto song’ gave me another surprise - I saw John’s Tugger totally lose all pretence at arrogance and aloofness. Wasn’t that fun! ;D. He was cheering Misto on, seemingly totally taken with the performance, absolutely enthusiastic - made for a wonderful chemistry between them I might add.

Catfight was great, no loud hissing, just suavity and elegance - a treat!

I must admit that Chrissie (Hammond) almost convinced me as Griz - her first ‘Memory’ (just before intermission) was haunting - the ending of the second hurt my ears as usual though. *shrugs* It’s just me, I don’t have too much of a liking for high notes or loud noises/voices and when I hear them I react accordingly. This is not to say that Chrissie doesn’t have a great voice. I do like it, just not when she bellows “touch me”… (MY opinion!!! Sue me ;D)

My compliments must go to the whole cast as it is - though I haven’t commented on every one of them individually. They were ALL stunning.

I did like ‘Growltiger’ esp., I love this scene as it is, and what with a few actors I hadn’t seen before to enjoy ;D… John comes up with quite a funny accent, sounds fab - and Kenny tried to steal away off stage, fearing for the canary on his shoulder, but Misto dragged him towards Growltiger forcibly, even though Munku kept making faces and gestures meaning, “Gosh, I’m sorry, there’s something really important just now, I really can’t go…” *grins*

During ‘Gus’ Bomba and Billy were lying on the mattress and MJ was sitting just behind them. Since he grew bored, he looked around, grinning impishly as he pulled Bomba’s tail. That got him Bill’s attention and the two of them proceeded to play with the leopard rug for the Growltiger scene for a while. MJ took it into his mouth, pulling, then Billy pulled at the other end, with Jerrie ending up trying to throw the rug across Billy’s head. *adorable*

Old D stopped them though, with an icy glare, so Bill lay back down again and MJ clawed at the rug - it did really look as if his “claws” got stuck in the fabric (!!) as cats’ do. Etcy had RT’s tail in her mouth, then she pulled at Old D’s hand (the glove he wore to be precise) to get his attention away from Rumple - which earned her an almost accusing glance, and then a slight smile from Deut.

Jemi was sitting with Victor on the car boot during the song - it seemed they were quite snug up there together, Jemi even encouraged Victor to lay his head in her lap - he had an expression on his face that made it seem as if he’d start purring in contentment any moment ;D.

Carby and Jemi are walking about hand in hand in their cockroach costumes just before the stepdancing in ‘Gumbie’ - it’s just too sweet!!

July 17, 2001 (matinee)

STALLS T 27, 28

We had the same cast as yesterday, enjoyment of the performance was a little hindered by throngs of children screaming, whispering, singing along and clapping in all the wrong places.

Tugger was, well…John sang ‘RTT’ more than he did yesterday, which was way better imo. I got to say he’s kinda cute when the kittens scream around him - he’s always looking about him for the maximum impact his hip swinging might produce and when Etcy gives her famous screech (which will echo in your ears *grins*), he stuffs his tail into her mouth with a grin. Just beforehand, after the first round of screams he straightens his mane and says with the most adorable expression “Cool!”

Before ‘MOH’, when the cast crawls around on stage getting to their positions, Carby was to the right of the stage (as seen from audience), chewing something - he’d probably been fed by the kids there. Misto came over, to get him back onto the stage and, though Carby valiantly tried to persuade his friend to stay with him, he was just pulled clear away from the kids *giggles* The two of them then rubbed noses… *cuteness*

When Misto threw himself flat on the ground during the Macavity scare, Carby leaned over him protectively, hands on his back, looking about with wide eyes - I was melting, they were just too adorable like that.

Jye was especially hyper today - totally ran wild while dancing, he’s fascinating to watch. His costume was different though, darker (grey unitard) with garish yellow stripes *ugh* looks really bad imo, and it doesn’t at all fit with either make up, wig or warmers. I finally figured out who Jye reminds me of - when he grins it’s with the same lopsided grin that made Harrison Ford famous as Han Solo…

And Misto *falls over* - apart from his usual stunning performance and those cute moments (like cuddling with Al during ‘Gumbie’), he did about 35 conjuring turns (it really gets hard to count when he spins like a whirlwind).

The fog machine (I know there must be a more technical term but I don’t know that ;D) didn’t work either today, but they had some smoke in the air - they took longer than usually to let the audience inside, probably for that reason.

Chrissie’s first ‘Memory’ was disturbed by the steady ringing of a mobile - after her last dance step, just as she let her arm fall limply to her side the first ring sounded, the second came right after “Silence”. If not for the fact that I consider such a disturbance unnecessary and an insult to the performer it would have been quite amusing.

MJ was adorable today - he hid his head under the leopard blanket during ‘Gus’, refusing to come out for almost half of the song. In 'Old D' when Deut appeared and sat on the tire, he mimicked the old guy by putting his tail about his face - it really looked like D’s beard! ;D.

After the end credits, when the ‘Misto song’ is being played as the cast goes offstage, Demi stood beside Munk as usual. She was looking at him with a very mischievous smile as she began swaying her hips - and yes, she did it exceedingly well, ‘Macavity’ is nothing like it ;D. Munku’s eyes just about popped out of his head as he stared at her, seemingly mesmerized - then Demi turned around abruptly, making for the car boot at top speed. Munku twirled his tail madly around before racing after her…I think I heard a squeal from Demi… *grins*

During the ‘Misto number’, John really got to me - he is so enthusiastic, truly cheering his friend on, that’s just lovely to see - before the pirouettes I’m pretty sure I heard him say “Come on, baby”. *laughs* It’s so nice to watch them interact, they seem to get along really well and you can tell John admires Jake as a performer.

MOVING PLATFORM A 16, 17

Had Kenny (Linden) in front of us during ‘Naming’. He stared first at me, then at Sachmet *sighs*, he has a hauntingly beautiful voice (I guess I’m starting to repeat myself *grins*) and I admire his dancing skills and the warmth and ease when interacting with the others. Saw him grin as he said “Let’s teach them a lesson” after ‘MJ & RT’ - from his tone of voice it was clear he was rather thinking of tickling than hurting them.

I can only agree with Sachmet that the cast seems more at their ease and active when they play with him - there was more reserve and coldness when David Ashley was on stage (*shrugs* our opinion).

Andrew (Wright) is funny, mostly in the background though - yet if you observe him closely he really has a lovely play of feature.

Jye (Frasca) is like a devil when dancing and well, so is Jake (Brent). The two compliment each other I’d say, they’re almost of equal height and both very slim and cute *grins* Carby is adorable to watch during ‘Pekes’ - he rubbed his pom adversary to dust between his matchboxes before blowing her into the winds. At the mating dance he strokes Jenny’s face (very gently), before turning his attention to El - in the midst of the kitty muddle I then saw El and Misto rub noses before finally lying down.

Carby came to the edge of the stage once, looking at me and then he reached out with his “paw” very slowly, pulling back almost immediately. *melted*

I had the feeling John (Partridge) was shouting less today - I do love his way of commenting at any and all times during the show, mumbling to himself or clearly audible, makes it easier to get caught up imo. I can’t help adoring his antics as it is, he woes the audience. Today, as he walked the auditorium during ‘RTT’ he addressed a lady in row J “Baby, why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” (not the exact phrasing) as he flung himself at her. *laughs*

During the ‘RTT song’ as Tug shakes his hips, Carby and Billy were sitting beside Bomb, Bill wrapped around her leg. Then Carby glanced at Tugger and tried to imitate the hip swinging (looked absolutely adorable ;D), but he failed miserably with Bomba, who tapped him on the head gently. So he stopped, pouting away.

Joe Ryan is a tie with Nick Crossley when it comes to the cutest Billy. He has facial expressions and a mischievousness that makes it hard to tear one’s eyes off him for fear of missing something.

After the catfight with Maccy, John began to spin his tale of magical Misto, while Munku and Demi cuddled, then, in one fluid motion that reminded me of “Gone with the Wind”, Kenny laid his partner down and they proceeded to roll about on the floor very gracefully *smirks*

I observed that Munku and Demi are very careful around each other, Kenny refrains from touching Emma (Woods) too openly, keeping his hands to himself, mostly just touching her shoulders gently, never groping.

Kenny, as well as just about every other cast member I’ve watched really never crosses the boundary. I’ve seen others who didn’t know when to stop and were trampling into personal space. It’s very hard to draw a line esp. in a show like this, but it’s possible and you can feel it in the atmosphere.

Misto did up to 36 turns (this time I’m pretty sure I didn’t miscount) - Jake seems to be spinning faster with each day, it’s amazing!
MJ and RT showed what they’ve got again today, they must be one of my fave notorious duos - I do love Lynsey’s no nonsense approach and Adrian’s cheekiness.

During ‘Addressing’, the fog that usually clears pretty fast enveloped everyone in a gigantic cloud - never have the cast seemed so fuzzy *grins* probably had too much of a good thing. Was funny though and the fog had drifted off enough by the beginning of the second stanza. Since the smoke smelled a little burnt, we suppose it might have been a little tire malfunction ;D.

July 19, 2001 (evening)

MOVING PLATFORM B 1, 2

Helen Baker was playing Jemi today. Her voice was a surprise - last time we saw her she seemed to have trouble hitting the high notes, and concentrating on them especially. None of that tonight, she sang very clearly and brightly, beautiful. Still I prefer Lindsey in the role. Helen, fabulous dancer and performer that she is, doesn’t look as kittenish and playful as Lindsey does.

As he left to got dressed up as a cockroach in ‘Gumbie’, Carby crawled past us, looked up, saw me and…grinned *sighs* He really is cute - after having scratched Griz across the back, big old Deut and even Munku hissed at him and he ran up to the car boot. There he stood, looking at them, incomprehension and embarrassment on his face as he hid it behind his hands *argh*

Jake has a new Misto costume as well. The white fluffies on his chest seem to be interlaced with black - whether that’s the black of the unitard beneath or additional wool I can’t say - but it makes the white look kinda dirty. The base colour of the costume seems to be dark grey now, you can see it at the throat. The tail is woven out of grey, brown (!) and black stripes of cloth (or so it looks), with a white tassel. I liked the old Misto costume much better. *shrugs*

Oh, and Admetus deserves a few words - while Andrew (Wright) doesn’t come up to Clinton in the catfight in terms of strength (not meanness, I mean, with Clinton grinning his way through the whole thing he’s the cuddliest Maccy there ever was ;D) and movement yet, he is very funny. Love his Macavity laugh - and he’s a great dancer too.

He was just adorable as he went after just about every queen tonight and was turned down time and again - the highlight was when he walked up to Bomba who ignored him - he made a face and gesture that plainly said “Oh damn!”. Then, at the mating dance, he edged towards Cassie, obviously surprised when she didn’t bolt, even more so when she wasn’t put out at his running his hand up her leg. He sniffed at her foot and they snuggled up to each other. *cuteness*

Poor Admetus had a run in with bad-tempered Deuteronomy (did I mention that Dave Willetts makes Deut seem just a tad harsher and meaner?) - during ‘Gus’, sitting on the tire, Andrew took Old D’s tail in his mouth - Deut turned, totally furious, scaring Admetus who dropped the tail. D motioned for him to come closer again and when he did, he was whacked hard on the head with a fist (!). If ever I had a reason not to like Old D there it is. *pouts*

Before ‘MOH’ Carby came out of his pipe and was crawling about in front of us when Misto came over, yanking at his tail (*ouch*) and indicating the stage with his head. Jye got the message, joining Jake and the two of them sniffed at each other and went to their places. Vicky was lucky and got a thorough nose rub from Misto.

As the toms lined up near us for the first round of barking in ‘Pekes’, Jake tried to play with Carby’s tail, but Jye didn’t seem to want that, dragging his tail away with a pout.

After being scolded for his misbarking during ‘Pekes’ (which he did on purpose, see the adorably cheeky grin!), Carby went to Old D who sat on the tire, got a pat on his matchboxed hands and then proceeded to swing his hips suggestively at the assembled kittens. Vic shook her head as usual with an exasperated, almost disgusted look, the others simply ignored him.

Misto was sparkling as always (let’s just say Jake can do the whole “magical” thing without a glitter costume ;D) - during all his turns (even at the ball) today he had his hands up in a slightly Egyptian looking sort of way. Inexplicably, he even looked elegant doing that…

How he managed to remain in the same spot (and exactly the same spot I ought to add) as he spun as fast as he could and came up to 36 pirouettes (pretty sure about the number) - wow. Did I mention that Jake seems to get just that little bit better every single day? (quite hard if you’re already that perfect! ;D)

When Tug mentioned the “phenomenal cat” Misto gave us the cheekiest, most adorable grin as he nodded enthusiastically. No way I’m gonna disagree! I might mention that he pointed at himself when Munku intoned “the Jellicle leader is here” before ‘Pekes’ - someone thinking of taking over the junkyard there? *grins*

For ‘Heaviside Layer’, Misto first helped Jenny, then Cassie down from the car boot in the politest manner and proceeded to lead the latter on his arm to her place in front of the tire.

When Misto chose Bomba as his assistant today (as he always does), Jenny got up herself, thinking she might have a chance. Tug, who happened to stand there, looked at her, sneering as he mimicked her ‘flat head fur’. Poor Jenny was offended, turned around and sulked for a while.

As for Etcy - she gets quite hyped up over Misto (she can’t keep her paws off him at the mating dance either…), during his song she’s swinging her hips in a decidedly tuggerish sort of way ;D.

Ross (Finnie) stood in front of us before the credits, he looked down twice and grinned that infectious, adorable grin of his. *grins widely herself*

July 24, 2001 (evening)

MOVING PLATFORM A 30, 31

Quite a few cast members had “gone missing” - we were in for a few surprises. Some of them were more than pleasant and others, well…

First of all, Clinton Brown’s back! What a Maccy! Much as I love Andrew (Wright), there just is a difference there… *ahem* Actually, Clinton played Alonzo (and Macavity) today, there was no Admetus. God, is that man sexy *hides* His Al is sleek and steamy - Sachmet dubbed him the “male Bomba” and I couldn’t agree more. Victor is more the hip swinging type by the way ;D

Stori James was on as Carby (actually wearing more of a George/Billy costume mix and make up). He made the most adorable faces, bustled about and was much more kittenish than Jye (and even Joe’s Billy) - what a surprise.

He was so adorable during ‘Pekes’ - when he misbarked, he looked totally shocked at himself, with a half-glance spared at angry Munku towering above him. In his make up and costume I must confess that Stori reminded me of a cuddly teddy bear *oops* *smiles*

Kate Tydman made a lovely Cassie, unfortunately she’s so small she kinda vanishes amidst the taller cast members. Candice (Evans) was Bomba tonight. I like her a great deal better than Julie Barnes, she’s less coldly aloof and more flirtatious (played around more, enticing MJ to catch her tail during ‘Gus’) and she and Tug seemed to have more chemistry between them (just me *shrugs*)

In fact, John (Partridge) was mumbling something to her all the while they were dancing at the Jellicle Ball, couldn’t make out the words. What I found esp. nice was Candice’s reactions during ‘RTT’ - she seemed really put out at being ignored and she was obviously turned on by Tug!

Helen Baker has a lovely voice, her Demeter isn’t at all skittish and when she says “Macavity” there’s no tremour in the question. Though I don’t like her interpretation as much as Emma Woods’, she’s great together with Candice (whose make up I saw close up - it’s beautiful, very intricate).

Etcy - we had Rebecca Louis - I’ve seen her before, she’s hardly ever on stage, what a pity though. She’s so adorable, not as hyper and acrobatic as Sarah-Jane, but you just have to love her.

To my surprise I must confess to liking John more and more as Tugger (same thing that happened with Neil Reynolds after seeing him for a week… ;D). If he actually SANG the whole ‘RTT’, I’d be worshipping him *laughs* He’s wild and mischievous, yet he’s likeable, don’t know how he manages to get that across. He’s just never mean (like Old D can be at times… *ahem*). And I adore John’s voice (when he sings ;D or talks). As he and Kenny sang ‘Old Deuteronomy’ today I melted into my seat…

John really enjoys himself during ‘RTT’, we had living proof of that today because, after Etcy’s shrill scream (performed admirably by Rebecca btw ;D), he was laughing so hard, he had trouble singing the last “about it”. I did love that! Shows he has a sense of humour and isn’t bored by his job at all.

Lynsey (Britton) sat in front of us during ‘MOH’ - she’s a really cute Rumple, though she really is all but helpless. I still can’t help but feel that it’s actually MJ who needs protecting, not her ;D. Her facial expressions are mischievous and cheeky and complimented by her make up which seems…well, bold. *laughs*

During the catfight, since Al was Maccy, Stori (= Carby) took Alonzo’s usual role in the fight. He measured Clinton’s outstretched arms a long time before jumping onto his back and seemed to have a little trouble getting back on the ground again. No wonder, how often does he play that part now?! ;D

I might have forgotten to mention that Clinton’s adorable grin was plastered onto his face again, and grew even wider as he played “Catch-my-Old-D-mask”, since the thing absolutely refused to be thrown away - looked like he was juggling it *argh how cute* In the end, it was Etcy who took the thing offstage. Helen (Demi) didn’t quite jump onto Clinton’s back by the way, he was hard pressed to hold on to her as he spun.

MJ once again had a sack of loot with him - I don’t know how this came about, just saw him sitting there, playing around with it, finally stuffing it under his shirt before ‘Pekes’, parading about looking somehow pregnant *winks* He also pulled the Growltiger blanket clear off the mattress during ‘Gus’, Bomba had to yank it away from him and put it back.

Oh…and now for the absolutely sweetest thing - during ‘Gus’ (where a lot of good stuff usually happens in the background ;D), Tug lay in his pipe and Etcy sat on the tire, gaping at him as he leaned back his head as far as he could so he was kinda staring up at her. She looked down, then moved closer very slowly and finally kissed him on the lips *melts* He continued to smile and tease her after that…

During the ‘Jellicle Ball’, Munku and Al (Clinton) were paired off in the partner dance *god* - those two are just too good to look at, so attractive and such great dancers…wow.

At the mating dance, Clinton lifted Vicky (since he was taking Al’s place anyway) - it still looks as though he were throwing all these lightweight women clear over his shoulder… *grins*. Jelly and Victor were…interesting to watch. They twined about each other very gracefully and very catlike. Esp. Jason was very agile as he wound in and out between Rebecca’s legs. Rumple dedicates herself to Billy btw, Jerrie’s with Jemima.

John was by far less enthusiastic during the ‘Misto nr’ today - though I think he got carried away into putting some German - it sounded like “Boh, ey” rather than “Oh well” the first time - into the song though. *grins*

Thomas Paton as Misto. Well, he was better than the last time I saw him, though he still has great difficulty in keeping his balance (and his rope from shaking) as he’s lowered to the ground. He did try for an elegant landing - I was hoping he wouldn’t break anything or fall off. His voice can’t compare to Jake’s or to Campbell McKenzie’s (whom we saw in February) imo and though he’s a very good dancer, the solo number just isn’t his.

I must say that he and Stori didn’t seem to work well together while dancing at the ‘Ball’ though - since they probably don’t practice together overly much that shouldn’t be surprising I guess.

Thomas’ turns - well, would have counted, but he was confusing me, spinning fast, then slow, then stopping and starting to spin again. Was quite odd and he did turn up his foot again as he did in February - sorry, but I can’t find that elegant.

During the ‘Misto nr’ he started spinning too late and ended after the spotlight was no longer shining on him. John was trying his best to cheer Thomas on I could see, but he just seemed to lack a certain motivation.

Oh, btw - I finally figured out that the Misto costume is basically tight black trousers and a black jacket, both studded with stones, the Quaxo costume is worn underneath (Thomas’ jacket was kinda flapping about wide open ;D)

The cup didn’t get shot - for whatever reason - I’m not entirely sure, I only noticed it a little late, yet I think that Misto didn’t really seem to be near the cup at all. So he and Tug ended up jumping an invisible ribbon, doing that in very good timing *smiles*

But I can’t say that Thomas wasn’t cute at times - he sat in front of us before the credits, reaching out to one of the teens who sat beside me (and had been noisy throughout the show I might add), and just as the guy tried to touch him, Thomas pulled back his hand with a sly grin *ain’t that cute*

What I loved was that Misto, after having brought back Old D (with more meddling from Tugger than usually ;D), started to clap (yes, you read that right!) loudly and VERY enthusiastically when Bomba came back on stage. Startled me, I really wasn’t expecting it. Sachmet pointed out he might be clapping for himself, though I don’t think so, not his style.

Imo, he was totally awed by having had such an assistant. Charming. He took a bit to remember he had to twirl Bomb around before the bow though, so Candice ended up being turned somewhat awkwardly into his arms - she didn’t seem to mind though.

One ought to mention he never came too close to anyone. In fact, Thomas kept a respectful distance usually. It fitted with his interpretation. He didn’t have as much interaction with the rest of the cast as Jake (probably cause it was his first time playing again and he was concentrating on his dancing first and foremost).

Thomas also seems to like kids, there were four of them sitting in the rows behind us and just before the credits he shook hands with all of them, giving them a very warm smile.
In Growltiger’s pirate scene, Misto tried to jump onto Victor’s back but slipped off (did I see Jason smirk there? ;D), then looked about from his firm footing on the ground, sight a little hindered by all the tall guys in front of him ;D.

Being cute too as he shrank the spotlight after the ‘Misto nr’, he was straining his muscles as he heaved the light and packed it together neatly until it was finally small enough to be blown out ;D. And I ought not forget to mention that his look of petrified shock is absolutely priceless. He seems to be having a heart attack each time (e.g. ‘Jellicle Ball’ as he hides behind Old D, his knees trembling…you can almost hear his teeth chatter)

He was good during ‘Naming’ too, lay on his back on the ramp to our left and favoured us with long looks (kinda upside down ;D). It must be hard coming on to a role he doesn’t perform on stage all that often and then filling in for someone who seems as perfect as Jake.

Still I think that the Misto role just isn’t for Thomas. Maybe he and heights don’t agree either and he’s having trouble on the rope for that reason? What I confess I liked about his interpretation was the quiet and shy manner. It fitted the character somewhat (as interpreted from the poem) and I could see that Thomas was concentrating very hard on the role, giving his best. I can’t help but admire him for that.

After the credits, Misto danced with Griz again, something resembling a waltz as usual. Then, Thomas pulled back and started a Pulp Fiction dance. It looks kinda funny, and Griz wasn’t exactly sure what to make of that.

Her facial expression might have been read as “oh great, a hyped up kitten, what do I do now?” Surprisingly enough, Tug came to the “rescue”, shaking his head wildly as he sent Misto off the stage *poor Thomas* and then actually waltzed off with Griz like a perfect gentleman. Now that is something new!

Munku and Demi teased each other again after the credits. Kenny batted his tail against Helen’s behind and they grinned widely at each other before playing “tag” across the car boot and off the stage.

I think it was just before ‘RTT’ that Jason (Victor) jumped off the tire onto the mattress and then showed off a perfect split VERY high up in the air. Was quite impressive. Trying to imitate Misto someone?! *laughs*

DRESS CIRLCE G 18, 19

What a lovely evening! What with so many cast changes we actually got to see 3rd understudies doing a part (I find that extremely interesting ;D)

Sebastian (Rose) back as Al - meaning a kitten instead of a grown up hunk *grins*, but a really adorable one at that. I have to confess that I like both Clinton’s and Sebastian’s interpretations very much, though I prefer Clinton’s voice (he was singing for once when he did Al, oh goodness *melted*)

Helen Baker as Bomba - she has the best voice for that part I must say. She was more catlike and graceful than Candice (who sometimes moves about very human style on stage), yet their dancing skills, interpretations and wonderful mimics make it hard to prefer one over the other. Conclusion is I like them both exceedingly ;D.

My fave Demi’s back though! Emma (Woods) is superb, though she was just as tall as Bomb today and for all that she’s really slim, Helen’s even slighter than her.

Kerry (Washington) played Griz today instead of Jenny. She has the gestures and mimics I find lacking in Chrissie’s interpretation, however, her voice isn’t as rough and haunting. What I especially liked was Kerry’s stamping her foot VERY loudly after her tries at dancing just after the Ball, making Deut’s hearing her all the more probable. Chrissie can’t be heard at all.

Jemi was one of the greatest surprises. Who’d have thought that tiny, slight Rebecca Louis had the voice of an angel? I must admit I liked Lindsey (Wise) better overall, yet in terms of singing there’s no comparison. Rebecca’s voice is clear and heart wrenchingly sweet and melodic *sighs*

Kate Tydman did Etcy - her shriek at the end of ‘RTT’ sounds like a strangled Rumpleteazer giggle, very becoming, gets everyone’s attention (not only Tugger’s) ;D.

In case I’ve not mentioned it before, John keeps having one hell of a good time - the reason you can’t help like him is that he brings so much joy to his role, he’ll shout and spur people on whenever he’s onstage and from the moment you first see him he’ll make you laugh. He’s a very supportive and amiable cast member or so it seems. As haughty and harsh as his interpretation supposedly is, he just doesn’t seem that cold to me.

Julie Carlton was on as Vicky today. Though not as elegant as Emma Kerslake, she’s cute and lovable. I enjoy seeing her perform. As Vic she’s more in the spotlight than in her usual role as Electra, though she remained fairly quiet and thoughtful even so.

Helen Harper is a wonderful Jenny, in any and all particulars. I’d love to see her again in the role, her voice and facial expressions are marvellous. Since there was no Electra today, Helen danced El’s part during the Ball, during ‘Macavity’ the kitten was simply missing and during ‘Skimble’, MJ stood in for her…did I mention he was way cute as he pushed Cassie out of line? ;D

Thomas (Paton) did better as Misto than yesterday. Had trouble during the ‘Misto nr’ again, but I saw he carried himself very well through the rest of the performance, interacting with the others more and smiling adorably. He doesn’t wear gloves with his Misto costume btw (something was bothering me about his costume yesterday as he sat in front of us, now I can at least put my finger to it.) and he still can’t get down and off the rope gracefully.

His turns were better, I counted about 30, Sachmet 27 - his way of spinning still confused us, but at least he didn’t stop midway and start again a few times as he did yesterday.

Jye (Frasca), much as I adore him, doesn’t have Stori’s Carby mimics, and I must admit that even I noticed today that his timing while dancing was off at most times. He seemed to be too fast, too much ahead of the music and the others. I attribute that partly to his energetic way of dancing - I find him totally engrossed in his steps, grinning as if he were having the time of his life. Yet still he was out of tune - perhaps not the most favourable thing you can say about a dancer… *shrugs*

MJ and Carby (as well as the other kittens) had a hard time today - Tanto (yes, you read right) always put them down - she was worse than bad-tempered Cori! *gasps* She was glaring at them, chiding, hissing or descending upon them in a fury, even hit at Carby with her leg. However, she was in perfect synch with Cori, I’ve never seen a better matched pair of twins.

Admirable and very grown up performance at the mating dance today as well as I noticed. However, the lady never smiled once, being, as I mentioned, in a rare bad mood. She looked like a thunderstorm personified (worse even than Old D during MOH!) and, no wonder, if you saw her name on the cast list. She was played by Stori James (yes, indeed, no joking - he was wearing his Coricopat costume and very ill tempered or so it seemed to me ;D).

Bomba snuggled up to Billy on the mattress during ‘Gus’, she also managed to grope at Tug’s butt after they’d danced together at the Ball and, to top it all off, she blew a kiss at Carby and Billy when they stopped her from running off the stage after Misto had selected her as his assistant. Reluctance, thy name is Bomba.

Never has Bomb put on more show of exasperation and distrust - Helen shook her head, put her arms in front of her and fell back surprised with wide open eyes when Misto did make her magically drift beneath the cloak after all.

When Helen got back, she got another enthusiastic round of clapping from Thomas (I do LOVE his doing that!), yet she waited in vain to be twirled by him - he almost ran her over instead.

The cup for the ‘Misto nr’ doesn’t work btw. There was no ribbon in it today, maybe it wasn’t Thomas missing out on a cue or choreography, but the technical department having a bit of trouble. *shrugs*

Tugger sang his “Boh, well” today, keeping with yesterday’s personal lyric change to a certain extent *grins*

Lynsey (Britton) really is the best Rumple I ever saw, she’s got this no nonsense attitude and she did slap Jerrie very hard today (heard it echo quite clearly ;D) when he forgot to mention her.

Btw - Cori lost one of his shoe boxes during ‘Pekes’ (which didn’t really serve to brighten his gloomy mood any), so he joined thundercloud Tanto in scolding every kitten that came their way as an outlet *grins*

Clinton (Brown) didn’t quite lose his Old D mask as planned, so Munku had to kick it away before flinging himself at his opponent for a thrilling catfight - no one does it as well as they do! Two fully fledged professionals going against each other full tilt with the occasional hiss and scream thrown in by a - constantly grinning - Macavity.

After the credits, Misto danced with Griz again, before Tugger came and the poor guy was sent off, slinking away dejectedly (didn’t I wanna hug him as he hung his head *argh*). Tug took to dancing with Griz then, as he did yesterday, but as they were nearing the ramp, John bent Kerry down and tried to kiss her.

She laughed, pushing him away and he grinned as he started tickling her, finally racing her off the stage - I had never supposed those two could be quite so…kittenish *giggles*

July 26, 2001 (evening)

STALLS N 46, 47

Yes, Jake (Brent) was on as Misto again! We did see Thomas (Paton) too, as Carby and gosh, he really was splendid! Got to me, he excelled in the role, both while dancing and in his interpretation. He was cheeky, yet shy, one adorable kitten with the cutest facial expressions of wide eyed wonder, amazement and fear.

I wouldn’t mind seeing him more often in that role. He has this way of hopping about on his knees as he kneels, really cute and kittenish and he bites his armwarmers in the most adorable way when he’s pensive or scared. Thomas has the brown spot over his eye on the right side of his face, just like Joe’s Billy btw. Jye puts it on the left side.

During ‘Bustopher’ Billy and Carby were sitting together; Carby’s hand had just been touched by Bus and he proudly held it in front of Billy’s nose. Bill laid his hand on Carb’s, Carb put his other hand on top, then they had a little game of putting their hands on top of each other and in the end started batting about them a little - *argh, so cute*.

Had a female Tanto today, who was very calm while Cori, still in a rare bad mood, kept hissing at just about everyone (except Old D and Munku) that crossed his way. Maybe a remnant of the impression left by yesterday’s twin *giggles*

Candice (Evans) as Bomb again, she really is lovely and finally I got to see Barbara King as Demi! She’s fabulous! A bit out of practice on dancing it seems, but her voice is perfect, I liked her doing Griz in February, but she’s even better as Dem.

She’s not at all skittish like Emma (Woods), rather self-assured in a way and even a little flirty, not afraid of touching or cuddling up to others. (She sat on the steps to the tire with Billy during the catfight. He tried to be protective, but was so scared that most of the time it was her who calmed him and held him close *sooooo sweet*)

A different interpretation for Demi and one that I came to like exceedingly. I esp. loved the way Barbara sang ‘Glamour Cat’ - I like that song above ‘Memory’, but it rises and falls with Demi’s voice naturally. And Barbara really had it going - she was haunting, dark, melancholy… wow!

What I found fascinating was how the tom kittens plotted to scratch Griz - Admetus and Victor sat next to each other, cuddling it seemed, then caught sight of Carby and rubbed up against him, talking and gently pushing him towards Griz. After Munku had vengefully descended upon them, Admetus patted a frightened Carby soothingly on the back as they lay hidden behind the mattress.

Cassandra was excellent. First time I saw Emma Woods in that role and though she’s quite small she exudes grace and sensuality that are very becoming for the character. Adorable facial expressions and effortlessly fluid motion - she’s great, it’s funny how you notice her even though most cast members are taller.

Jason (Gardiner) did the Tugger today. I do like him, yet I still hold true to what I said about him in May. His interpretation of ‘RTT’ is grand (since he actually SINGS the whole of the song ;D), yet I must say that I prefer John’s voice.

Jason’s Tug is funny, not aloof or haughty as John’s is, yet he still is less active (though he was more fun to watch than in May imo). He did some wild dancing in the background - wow! Sure has the Tugger movements down *ahem* ;D

And yes, Andrew (Wright) was back as Victor, what a cutie! Esp. when he took the hat away after ‘Bustopher’, putting it over his head, then laying it onto the mattress, climbing into it and rocking back & forth until Skimble came over and scolded him away.

During ‘Gumbie’ Al prowled around Misto, then he tried to pounce upon him, but Jake simply batted his ears *adorable* Did I mention I love the their antics?

Oh and Jake, Jake, Jake… what a voice - we heard him quite clearly during ‘Naming’ *melts* As adorable as ever, trying to reign in the other kittens (esp. Carby) and quite the gentleman - though Etcy (Kate Tydman) was all over him during the mating dance he scarcely touched her, just wove gracefully about her legs.

Sometime during the first half, Jake lay on his back on the mattress, letting himself hang decoratively over the edge *swoons* He also touched noses with Vicky during ‘MOH’ - time and again till they were both grinning widely, then Misto rubbed against Vic’s shoulder and they went to their places.

The cup for the ‘Misto nr’ was working again today, must’ve been fixed. I counted about 32 turns, though I think I missed some, Jake’s really spinning incredibly fast at the end. How he can still stand straight after that I’ll never comprehend. Of course he was proud of being called “phenomenal cat” yet again (nodding with a cheeky smile of acknowledgement); cuteness itself is his fast trampling on the spot just before he flings himself at Old D for a bear hug after bringing the old guy back (and just before he runs off to fetch the Jellicle leader earlier on).

Jake also saluted while holding the train’s light as Skimble ran past and talked about “greeting the station master with elation”. Misto’s microphone was defective during ‘Invitation’, so he was singing extra loud, even though his voice was still extremely quiet over the music - he had been fiddling about beneath his shoulder fluffies beforehand, since the mic had been crackling as he sang his line for Jellicle songs already, probably trying to fix it.

Sachmet tells me that during ‘Bustopher’ Misto didn’t only push Cassie out of the tom lineup but Tanto as well, which lead Cori to scowl irritably (which he seems to do just about every time I look at him ;D)

Before ‘Gus’, Jake stood on the pipe beside Tug and they were scratching each others’ ears *argh*, then Misto gave a long suffering sigh when the old one’s name was mentioned, his face screwed up with boredom. He was gesturing to Cassie throughout most of the song I noticed. Sachmet says he even mimicked Gus hanging himself - didn’t see that, only the he blew a kiss at Cassie once - she was really flattered of course *grins*

During the ‘Misto nr’, Jake and Jason do that “manly handshake type of thing” - Misto hits Tug’s outstretched hands, then Tug hits Misto’s and then they bump their hips against each other. I’ve seen John and Jake do that once before too. It’s really cute in a way.

Misto danced a little with Cassie at the credits - she was VERY happy about that, should have seen that grin as she sauntered off stage, looking back at him.

Tug slighted Griz again after the credits - at first he offered to dance with her, then backed away fluffing his mane - Misto “tsked” inaudibly, turning his eyes heavenward in exasperation as he escorted the lady down the ramp, always waving politely at the audience with that warm smile of his *sighs and melts*

July 28, 2001 (evening)

DRESS CIRLCE E 2, 3

*sniffles* Another long, long time before I can go back to London...and a grand cast change ahead too. There are quite a few performers I’m loath to lose I can tell you.

First of all, I should now finally give proper credit to the best Jelly I’ve ever seen - Rebecca Lock. Not only does she have a superb voice but she also has a grand interpretation.
You can see her twirl her tail about, flirt (with Munku, but not only him), get motherly over the kittens and take care of Gus. I love how she encourages him to sing, gently drawing him into the spotlight and yet not being able to help a mischievous grin at his words now and then. As Griddlebone she steals the show. “Sono Cui” - well, be prepared for one LONG (and I do mean long!) note there - clear and beautiful. The rapturous expressions on the faces of the pirate crew are surely mirrored by many in the audience. Her own mimic and gestures should not be missed either - she goes from shocked (at Growltiger’s looks) to seductive (while not being at all pleased to find that her new lover is lacking in muscles ;D) and she hates nothing more than Growltiger’s trying to steal HER show. She’s ambiguous too - I haven’t yet totally figured Rebecca’s Griddle out (hard to say whether or not she actually likes her lover or betrays him to the Mongolian horde). I cherish that in a way, it’s a secret that becomes the character.

I do love that evil grin of hers too, just before she scratches Growltiger’s belly, having sharpened her claws very catlike on the mattress beforehand. And you can always hear her voice a notch higher than the others in the choruses (not unpleasant, but noticeable all the same ;D). She’s also the one to hit the “C” during ‘Jellicle Songs’.

A lovely present for us today was that we got to see Jake as Misto. We weren’t close enough to make out his beautiful voice during ‘Naming’, nor could we catch every play of his features, yet it is as a dancer that he shines most it seems. His Quaxo is a flawless, elegant performance, a little show all in itself. Nothing missing, no loose ends, everything fitting seamlessly into the interpretation of the character, marvellously perfect.

Today, Misto flirted heavily, was turned down by both Bomba and Vicky though, poor guy. Etcy made up for that in enthusiasm during the mating dance though. Seen El in the video? She’s tame compared to Emma Woods who took charge completely and seemed to thoroughly enjoy herself, leaving Misto precious little to do! *grins*

Being a gent, Quaxo led Cassie towards the tom line up in ‘Bustopher’, arm around her waist (though she does tower above him somewhat), only to gently shoo her away (Tanto as well, who was all but pleased and kept glaring daggers at the toms’ backs, remaining poised and motionless on the ground, one leg up in the air until Cori came back, somewhat apologetic).

At the ‘Misto nr’, Jason surprised us with a few high notes again, not only when saying “Confusions”. It’s amazing how he does that. Much as I like him as a performer, I still can’t find his Tugger as fascinating as John’s. He’s a better Victor imo. Cute was how he rocked about in the pipe during ‘Skimble’ - looked almost as if he were polishing it, he was so enthusiastic he almost fell off. Sachmet said Jake had to hold on due to the swaying he caused, I didn’t see that though.

Jake did seem to have a problem during his number though, Sachmet says a spark flew at him after one of the explosions, it might also have been one of his glitterstones slipping off, we don’t know. He rubbed his eye though. He performed beautifully nevertheless, if you hadn’t seen him before you’d never have noticed he wasn’t quite up to par, nor have guessed that he couldn’t totally concentrate on his spins. He left out a small piece of choreography and his turns were less steady, we suppose it was because his eye was giving him trouble and he couldn’t properly fix it on a point. Did about 30 turns, we weren’t really into counting, rather worrying about him.

We were convinced that something had indeed gone wrong, cause he left during ‘Memory’ and didn’t turn up for the whole song. He came back for ‘Heaviside’ though, and seemed to be quite well. I do think that the cast was worried as well, they were practically throwing themselves at him and he seemed to reassure them he was fine.

Misto did play ‘el torro’ with Bomba again, letting her run past his red cloak after she had been prevented from running offstage. He also waited as the cast gathered to escort Griz to the tire, hand outstretched, for Cassie who took his hand and put hers above it as he lead her to her place. *sighs* I will definitely miss him!

As I’ll miss Kenny - I hope he’ll still be playing Munku after the cast change - what a voice and such a great dancer. He’s tall, yet manages a grace and sensuality - wow. Just like Clinton.

Another surprise today were MJ and RT. Stori (James) and Rebecca (Louis) were exquisite to watch, totally synchronic in their movements and well, I did say Rebecca had the voice of an angel. I’ve seldom heard the like. She can hit the highest notes without sounding shrill, there is such a softness in her tone. She has an adorable giggle and a few cute expressions, wonderful dancer as well. So is Stori, of course, though he surprised me with his singing. I hadn’t remembered his voice as particularly nice. But it’s fitting for Jerrie and he is mischievousness personified.

Just before the first set of barks during ‘Pekes’, he and Carby mimicked the pose Tanto & Cori do later in MOH - of course the mystic twins descended on them with a vengeance, hissing and scolding (which they seemed to relish doing btw).

Rebecca is a naughty RT, and she got quite angry at MJ for forgetting to mention her at the end of the song - that face she made behind his back - storm clouds gathering! *grins* The notorious couple made cartwheels from the left to the right side of the stage btw (I’ve never seen anyone else do it…) - and they didn’t turn as often as Adrian and Lynsey.

And during ‘Old D’ MJ and RT were lounging on the car boot - Stori was quite cute, not quite daring to lay his hands on Rebecca’s thigh, settling for her arms and shoulders, though he once touched her butt very gently, almost shyly. But then she moved away from him, leaning onto the tire with her arms and staring up at Tugger.

Stori sidled up behind her and, with the most mischievous grin I’ve ever seen, placed both hands on her behind - she just turned around, grinning madly. Deut entered just then and they slid off the boot onto the ground. While Rebecca kept singing, Jerrie flung himself at unsuspecting Tanto and Cori, his arms about their shoulders, scaring them. They turned on him as one, fury on their faces and Stori scrambled to the edge of the stage as fast as he could, evading their swipes *laughs*

I do love Ross Finnie too, such a charming grin, quite infectious and a nice voice - as Sachmet says, the perfect Skimble. And I can only agree.

Cassie was played by Candice again - she picked a flea off of Misto’s head as they sat in the train line up during ‘Skimble’ and fed it to him *adorable*

Now…Clinton and Andrew - those two can be such goofballs at times. You can see they enjoy themselves thoroughly. During ‘Gumbie’ they lounged on the mattress, playing, then Victor set on Admetus’ back to give him a massage, a favour which the latter returned.

Emma Woods is a lovely Etcy btw - she has the voice, the scream (for Tugger) and she’s definitely capable of being one hyper kitten. She is, however, not as acrobatic or stunning as Sarah-Jane (who is, imo, the best Etcy ever). Emma’s costume was interesting - it’s not striped in yellow and orange as one might expect, rather there are large brownish black spots on it (much like Tanto’s costume in fact), her arms- and legwarmers are all white if I remember correctly though.

Carby tried to get to Misto just before MOH today, but Vicky wouldn’t let him get past her - it was quite funny…every time he moved to one side of her, she went there as well, blocking his path. When the three of them went centre stage then, Vic got a sweet nose rub from Misto, who ignored heartbroken Carby completely who went off to sulk.

Rumple got quite exasperated when Jye misbarked - she tried to show him whose turn it was, but since he messed up on purpose (watch for that cheeky grin of his!) she had no chance at all ;D.

Oh…and before I forget…one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen - a catfight during ‘Gumbie’. Misto and Al circled each other, pranced - how adorable can they get? Al hopped about a bit on his knees, very kittenish, then the two of them batted at each other’s tails *argh* Munku broke off their game with a stern look while singing his second stanza, esp. when Misto turned onto his back, legs in the air. They sat up and looked up at him like good little toms, then Misto batted his tail behind his back, inviting Al to pounce upon it again *giggles* - this time Skimble came and told them off.

Just before this little incident, Misto sat with the mystic twins, Tanto rubbing up against him - she did show a great interest in him throughout the show today, couldn’t quite keep her hands to herself as she jumped off the mattress to join the others dancing while Tugger was walking the house ;D. Did I mention that Jake rivals Tug’s hip swinging any day? *winks*

During ‘Skimble’ as the train fell apart, Jake lay on his side, holding the light upside down and Jemi sank down beside him. While everyone laughed, she took the opportunity to tickle his chest. (Btw - Growltiger scratches Misto beneath the chin after handing back the sabre before Griddle comes down.)
