1999 BS2 Special Rig

OK this picture doesn't show the gear so clearly, you'll just have to trust me.  In 1999 Tak released a solo album, and to coincide with this he had a TV special on BS2.  It had Tak and a band playing in the middle of an empty stadium, interspersed with interviews with Tak.  So this is the rig used for that TV special, which you may see in several Tak solo videos if you are into the old WinMX.  It's fairly stripped down for Tak.   He had an assistant (probably someone also very famous whom I've snubbed) playing a Ibanez JEM with an almost identical rig to handle rhythm and harmony duties.

He's got a bloody enormous overdrive pedal dominating the middle of the board, the Budda PhatBass Tube Overdrive.   It contains two 12AT7 tubes, not a particularly high gain device, but smooth and rounded.   I must say he's got a really nice overdrive sound in this video, also due to the wonderful white 70's Marshall.

MAXON Pedal - a reissue Maxon chorus CS550 pedal, on far right of pedal board.

NO PHOTO YET

Korg Volume Pedal.  As always his trusty Korg Volume pedal, taking up the left of the board.  This makes swells and things possible.  In contrast to most B'z material, he uses it a lot during this performance.

Vox Wah Pedal.  The old silver topped Vox Wah.  Or maybe not the old Vox Wah, anyway, there's a wah with a chrome rocker visible at the very bottom of the photo.

Mystery Switch - in middle of board, dunno what it controls.

Tak has just one Maxon UR5J Wireless system sitting on top of his Marshall.   The other guitarist is using one too.
