AMCS 255:  Ethnics in Humanities

And the sad thing is, I really don't know the name of this class.  I'm guessing with the current name.  Anywho, I had the first class today (8/31), and to be honest, it sounds like it's going to be pretty fun.  Not because of the topic, but because the way the class is run: there are quizzes each class meeting (once a week), on the reading that cover general ideas and are ment to reward those who read and make it tough on those who don't.  We don't need to take notes, don't need to participate unless we want to, and we don't have tests, big essays, or a final at the end.  We need to show up to take the quiz, and stay for the remainder of the class.

The proffessor is pretty neat too.  Think of Joey from friends, but smarter.  He's even got the accent!  Makes the class really fun when his accent kicks in and he gets excited about what he's talking about.  I think it's the first time a class like this has made be stop doodling to pay attention to what was being said.
KIN 101: Kickboxing

So this is my fun "force me to excersise" class.  Just in case I get lazy and stop going to the gym, I have this!  Because the class has just started, I'm still pretty bad at kickboxing, but I'm definatly getting a good arobic workout and getting my heartrate up.   Look at me, talkin' like I've got a clue.  HA!  We're learning basic kicks and punches, as well as tightening muscles.  So yeah, I've been threatening everyone I know that they'd better do as I say, or else I'll give 'em the beat down.  And yeah, that even includes my boss at work.  I'm such brat.  =)
MATH 165: Intro to Statistics

I've been putting this class off since I got here.  But if I want to get my psych degree, I gotta take it.  And now I am.  And yeah, it's math.

The teacher is pretty decent, he's got a british accent that makes him fun to listen to.  I feel like I'm watching the Discovery Channel or TLC or something.  Something educational.  Oh well, perhaps statistics will make more sense this time around.
(Stupid high school stats class....)
PSY 320: Computer Applications in Psychology

It's a class that teaches you how to write papers, research for them, and all that other stuff they want you to be able to do in grad school.  Good thing I'm going to learn it now, right?  It's going to be a lot of work, but it's also not going to have finals, tests, or essays.  There are 32 projects that are due throughout the semester, ranging from really easy stuff to things that'll take nearly the entire semester to complete.  Here's hoping my computer doesn't die on me.  And here's hoping I understand Macs.  Here's REALLY hoping that I understand Macs...
PSY 461: Personality

Another class that'll look good for grad school, another upper division psych class, and a class that fits into my schedule.  Works for me!  Looks like it'll be an interesting class, we've done assorted projects in class already that really tell at lot about people (such as an analysis of all the junk we had in our purses, backpacks, or whatever else it was that accumulated stuff we didn't throw away).  The only thing is that it's a late night class on Thursday (5-8:40pm), but then again, I've had worse (such as that Accounting class on Monday night from 6-9:40pm).  I suppose I'll count my blessings where they appear!
