Noel
NOEL | SPRUCE |
Noel came to us as a rescue along with another ferret, now named Spruce, on December 19, 2002. Her name was however not Noel, and his was not Spruce. We named her that because of Christmas Spirit, and her spirit to fight!
Noel and Spruce were starved nearly to death. A friend of mine had discovered from a lady that she works with, that some lady was trying to sell these ferrets. Well at the time neither one of us could afford the $300 that was being asked. So about a month went by and my friend once again emailed me saying that she thought the woman decided to just give the last 2 away. There were 3 altogether. My friend finally got to go pick them up, and what she saw was horrid. They had not eaten in a very long time, and were skin and bones. The male could not even stand up on his own. The lady told her that she could not afford to provide them with proper food. Not even a cheap cat food? She also told me that they had been living out on the porch in a cardboard box with something laying over the top of it. How horrible for them!
My friend got them home and reported their condition to me. We were both very upset at what these two sweethearts had to endure, and we were both thankful that they were still alive! She had to hand feed the male until he was stronger and able to feed himself, and soon he was eating on his own, and alot of it!
She finally brought them to me after the male could walk on his own and eat on his own. They are both very thin, but very happy and active! I instantly fell in love with both of them! They seemed so friendly despite what they had been through, for Lord only knows how long!
We will update Noel's progress as she gains her weight. And will get some more pictures of her! Please....if you have a ferret(s)and you can't feed them, then do something about it. Take them to a no kill shelter or a ferret rescue!

| I love this round yellow thing, it has no taste, but sure is squishy, and it rolls! Hmmm??? I better hide it! |
Hmmm?? Is this thing edible mom?

| mmmmmm.... Yummy Yummy Yummy! |
Now I know I can get up there, but what is the easiest route?
