        Dillon:

Dillon, dark sable, (he has the little white spots over his eyes like Wendy does) was purchased at the GLFA show on June 6,1997 he was 12 weeks old, and very small for a ferret. He must have been the runt of the litter, as his brother was at least an inch longer. It was his easy laid back way of sleeping while Brandon, my one grandson, carried him around the show that made him a part of our family. He was listed as a bulldog ferret, but will never reach the size of most of them, but that's okay.

He is not real adventurest, but he does like to look outside when the door opens. He likes raisins, cheerios, and sometimes the Bandit treats. That's if that's all I'm offering. I thought he'd be a lap ferret, but so far he doesn't care to be held. He's never been a biter, although when I play with him, he does get me ever so slightly once in awhile.

He does not get the least bit sleepy when he is scruffed. In fact, he can get down right onery. He hates to have his ears cleaned, but I can manage it. What I can't manage is to clip his nails. So I put ferretone on his tummy, and while he licks that up, I clip nails.

I've found out that he's quite a fighter, he has least gone after the two new ones whenever he takes a notion. He has a one track mind, I Have to completely remove him from the area and distract him, in order to get him to forget about the fight. Sometimes I have to put him in time out to let him know that I mean business when I say "NO". Time out is in the carrier that sits on top of the cages. He is one of the ones involved when Hamilton is fighting.

He is also one to come beg for ferret food when he sees me filling their dishes. He will take it from my hand or from the container. He runs and hides it for later same as Hallie.

His favorite thing to hide is my shoes. There is one particular pair that has lots of little teeth marks all over the front of them, they aren't very comfortable so I let him drag them off. They go under the bed and when I pull out drawers to look for something I will pull them out so he can hide them again.

When I'm running his bath water getting just the right temperature, he tries to get a drink or bite it, I'm not sure which is in his head. Other than that, he doesn't mind his bath.

He had his boosters the last week in June. He gets both at the same time and so far has not had any reactions to his shots.
