          Hamilton

You came into our home in order to hide you after you had bitten a little girl, which caused her to need a stitch in her nose. You had been adopted by my daughter from a ferret show. Your name was Fang, but you were much too dignified for such a name, and thus you became Hamilton. The local authorities knew you were adopted and come to find out, they weren't interested in locating you. This all happened shortly after Kodo had been euthanized in order to check for rabies. The first thing you did after arriving here was to pierce Daddy's nose. From then on, you were Daddy's special boy. Without small children around, you slowly calmed down. We respected your fear of being pulled out from under furniture. We also put you up when small children came to visit, warned all strangers to leave you alone, and you became a very loving boy around us, and eventually lost all your fears. I can still remember when you bit the faucet with your first bath. You never did like to have your ears cleaned, but gave me many less problems after biting a q-tip that I had just used on your ear. It sure must have tasted nasty. And thanks to the FML, I tried ferretone on your belly, and nail trimming became a breeze. We have no idea of the abuse you had taken in your early years, but you had three good years with us. Some of our favorite memories include your body slams on the back of our legs. Then it was time to get you, which meant belly rubs. You loved them even when we found your tickle spot. Just like a dog, you'd scratch the air with your back leg. Daddy will still be looking for you to meet him at the door when he gets home from work. That meant so much to him. You were partial to him until you got so sick, then I was the one you wanted comfort from. I think you knew that I was doing my best to help you. You hated your visits to the vet, but never held it against me. Even after two surgeries just a week apart, numerous medicines, x-rays, biopsies, blood sent in to test for ADV, other blood work, we still don't know what was really wrong. Your doctor even checked you out after your mercy shot, and all we know is that you were filled up with fluid, but your heart, when checked out, showed no problems. And you were on medicine to keep you from filling up with fluid. You now rest with Banjo and Simon along with your favorite stuffed toy, the one you and Ashbury kept hiding from each other. You will have plenty of flowers to decorate your grave, and you are safe in your own backyard. You hated to be away from home. You would not take walks away from home, just ran back with us in tow when you figured you were too far away from home. Your last month with us was very hard on all of us. I'm glad that you aren't suffering anymore, but I would give anything to have you back with us playing once more. You will always be in our hearts and memories. We love you and miss you so very much.

    Dear Sandee,

I have to ask another favor of you. Hamilton is on his way to the bridge.
He will be carrying his favorite stuffed toy with him. Would you please have
Banjo and Simon there to meet him? And please make sure he knows that his
mommy, daddy, and the vet did everything we could think of to help him.
It hurt us so much the last few weeks to watch him try to move around, and
he was getting weaker all the time.

We are going to miss him all the time, and always have him in our hearts.

    Thanks, Millie

    Hi all

A little guy named Hamilton came in later. He waz met by Banjo and Simon.
They were really happy to see him and they wanted to know everything dat
waz happening at hom especailly da gossip and who waz in trouble. They
talked and talked. Eventually Hamilton ran down so they headed off to grab
a bite to eat at da Fruit Bar and then head out to show him all da sites and
attractions. They explored for a bit and even found a couple of cheweasls out
there. Then they headed off to Dirt Mountain to enlarge da den for one
more and so they would have a place for da loot and Hamiltons stuffed toy.
They were soon digging away at it but I don't think it will take them long
at da rate they are going. He said to send his luv to hiz mommy and daddy
along with lots of cuddles and hugs.

All this partying haz got me a little tired. I think a nap is in order.
Gotto rest up for tonights party. Gotto go.

    Bye BYe
