You will always have a special place in my heart. All your work and time and effort are so appreciated.
I had such a good time and saw so many people!!!

Thanks again Dot!!!!!

Subject: THE REUNION!
My compliments to the committee. What a wonderful weekend! I arrived on
Saturday in time to tour the school with my parents. My dad had attended FESS
in the 40's. He was a football player and so proud of it. The joy in his
face when his former neighbour and the team's star quarterback, Tip Logan,
recognized him and approached him with such friendship. Just to see my
Dad's face, was worth the 2 1/2 hour drive.
But it didn't end there. I was amazed at the number of photos and the
memorabilia that was gathered for all to view.
I attended the dinner at the Race Track. That too was superb. I was
so delighted to see so many at the evening celebrations. So many from my
class of '71 were there. I hadn't seen them in some 25 or 30 years. And to
be recognized and to recognize them. This was such a wonderful experience.
Thank you...thank you...thank you! You have no idea how much this weekend
meant to me. Last year, at this time, I was in the middle of chemotherapy.
The timing of this reunion was just perfect.
I look so forward to the next one.

Hi Dorothy
What a great reunion. I am sure that you are thrilled with it all. I was
with the Babcocks and we stayed for the dinner
and until after 10:00 pm and saw and talked to a lot of people, but I did not see a lot of people that I wanted to.
I went to see Mrs. MacDonald in the afternoon and we had a good visit.
Please keep in touch and let me know who and what I missed.
Regards
Ralph

Dorothy,
Unfortunately, we did not actually get a chance to meet
.... but I just wanted to let you know how MY time at the FESS reunion went.
It was so much fun seeing Mr. Reichert after all these years .... AND HE HAS
NOT CHANGED A BIT.
Seriously, I would have recognized him anywhere.
I did run into Kim Brown, Bob Filipowicz, Donna Flake and a guy who I didn't remember, but who remembered me
and paid me a lovely compliment (from when I was 'young), then disappeared into the crowd.
However, the hi-light of the entire event for me was getting together with
Anita (McColl), Ginny(Green), and Robby (Krieger).
One I missed very much was Anne McReynolds (although I know she was there in spirit, she would not have missed a great party).
We laughed sooooo much our bones hurt the next day. We walked down "Memory Lane", showed some incredible pictures of us "THEN".... and related our 70's shenanigans!!!!! (They are funny now, but then, man, would we have been busted!!!)
If it was not for people like you Dorothy, and the many others that
co-ordinated this reunion I would not have had the pleasure of connecting
with the people I've mentioned. All in all it was a wonderful weekend, a fun time, and I WANT TO THANK THE ENTIRE REUNION COMMITTEE, for what I think was a job well done, and I know enjoyed by all.
MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO YOU ALL
Regards,
Sheena Hudson

Dot Burns, you are the best!
I just got home late this afternoon from the reunion - I stayed a few extra days with my mom and dad, then my sister, Dorothy.
I cannot tell you what a wonderful time I had last weekend. We owe you a great deal of thanks, for all your hard work, and getting the big ball rolling.
I am just still bathing in all of this. I think we need another, just to now sit down and talk, rather than all this flitting, to see so many people, in so little time. Actually, maybe you got questioned too, I know my sister Dorothy was, about another get together before another 25 years.
Your web site is and has been, a real inspiration and practical tool, for us to be able to make contact. I think Dorothy and June were talking about getting the 4 guest books in some order, and making them available. I know I would love that, since I didn't get around to as many emails or addresses as I would have liked.
I was thrilled to see so many people I knew, especially from out of town, who made the effort to come to the event. I was also so glad to see teachers from our era, Mrs. Merrin, Mr. Smith, Mr. Backshall, Miss Baker - my goodness was that nice. I am so glad we met, as well. I was beginning to wonder if we would, but there you were, at the closing.
Wasn't it fantastic, that a woman who walked into the school when it first opened it's doors, was there?
THANKS A LOT, DOT!
Hugs,
Dolores

I had a great time at the reunion and the trip back to Fort Erie was well worth the effort.
It met and surpassed all my expectations.
I, and I think many others probably wouldn't have even been aware of the reunion if it had not been
for your website Dorothy, so thanks again for all your effort there,
and the trip down memory lane.
Regards,
Frank

Hi Dorothy!
Last weekend was the most FANTASTIC event of the year so far for Dave and
I!
Dorothy...I must express my deepest thanks to you for what you and the other
members on the Reunion committee did for the school's alumni's. It truly
showed how much enthusiasm, determination and hard work you put towards the
success of the 75th Reunion celebration. It certainly was a GREAT SUCCESS!!
I can't stop thinking about it. I was totally over whelmed with seeing many
of my old friends and teachers. I was particularly delighted talking to Mr.
Ric Simpson, reminiscing about the Operettas. There were tears of joy .....
and also tears of sadness for the ones who are no longer in our world ....
particularly Don Briggs, a very close friend of mine, and Annejesse Mars
(my Goddaughter).
Dave had a great time meeting most of my friends and he also met two of his
own friends which he worked with at the Race Track years ago.
It was also great to see Frank Flynn, Dave Nash, Steve and Sheila
Stapleton reunite with my brothers Joe and Pat. I took video and photos of
"The Crowns of England" approx. 35 years later. It was one of those rare
moments that had to be captured with a camera.
I wear the new 2003 school ring with pride every day! (Note: Dina won the
school ring in the silent auction)
At the end of the ceremonies and coming home, I felt I just went through a
time shuttle back to the 1970s for 3 days. Everyone I spoke to were raving
about how everything was so WONDERFUL!!!
Your website certainly brought old friends back together again ..... THANK
YOU!
Talk to you later.
Hugs
Dina

Hello Dot,
I just thought I'd drop you a line to say that we had a great time at the
re-union.
We never got a chance to meet with you. I asked around, but you
weren't around when I was.
But we did have a lot of fun. Met a few people I haven't seen in 30 years.
Good job...it was a good time

Dorothy,
Just a short note to thank you for all the hard work you did on the reunion.
I had such a wonderful time and couldn't have wished for anything more.
I hope you realize that it was your web site that encouraged so many people
to attend. We had a marvelous turn out (Class of 1971) and it was all due to you! Thank you again for the fabulous job that you did and I look forward to seeing more reunion photos posted on the site!
Please stay in touch so that we'll dance again at the school's 100th! (Of course we may need our walkers then!)
Love,
Debby Taylor (Sunkenberg)

My compliments to you and the rest of the committee who organized a great
reunion. Friday was great, but I thought the Saturday night reunion party was
fantastic. I reconnected with a lot of old friends, neighbours, and
classmates that night that I hadn't seen in years.
Also, thanks again for helping get our 71 grad class together. You started
getting information on the FESS anniversary out early and without your
website and the effort of the 2 Debbies, our class wouldn't have connected.
I doubt I would have made the trip from Vancouver if our class hadn't gotten
together. I had a great time and was glad I made the trip. I would have
regretted not coming. It was great to reminisce with old friends about the
'good ol' days' and for a brief time step back to 1971 again!
Thanks Dot

I can't put into words how wonderful it was. Greg & I are still talking about it. We didn't get home until 4:30AM but enjoyed every minute. We started out with a group at our house (Pam Yasko, Bob Filipowicz, Fay Wilson, Nancy
Glenny, Chris Andrews, Bonnie Wilton , Brian Maskell Jeanie Shearing and their husbands and friends).
A great big thankyou to you and the others that put this memorable night together. My only regret is that I didn't get to see and talk to all. Thanks again for a job well done.

Please pass on my thanks and congratulations to all those involved on the 75th Anniversary committee.
Dorothy, a special thanks to you for putting the web site together and
taking the time to always update it. The Picture pages, Reunion pics etc., are just great! It sure brings back a lot of memories. Because I look at the web site almost every night my daughters say that I'm "obsessed" by it.
Thanks again
