1st of all- to clear the air on whatever you may be thinking about playoff format, here's how it goes:
The winner of each division (3 in NS, 3 in D.S.) clinches an automatic playoff bid. The top 2 records in each conference result in a 1st-Round BYE. The top 2 records, contrary to what may be popular belief- may come out of the same division. For example, Mission Viejo looks to be a lock for #1 seed in the NorthSide, out of the Yosemite Division. However, the #2 seed could possibly go to Yosemite runner-up Los Angeles if the Pitbulls finish with a better record (or hold the tie-breaker) over the Pacheco or Yolo Diviosional winners.
Wild Cards- there are 3 WCs to be awarded, to the 3 teams in each conference with the best record that did not win their division. In the NorthSide, the 3 divisional winners if the playoffs began today would be Mission V, Oakland, and Atwater. The 3 WCs would be LA, Salinas, and Huron- meaning that the Yolo Division would not have a Wild Card team. The Wild Cards do not automatically go to the 2nd place team in each of the 3 divisions.
Tie-Breakers- the 1st tie-breaker is always head-to-head. If the 2 tied teams split a game apiece, the 2nd tie-breaker is points scored in those 2 games combined. Whoever outscored the other by adding those 2 games gets the nod. A 3rd tie-breaker in this case would be divisional record- since 2 teams who split 1-1 would have to be divisional opponents in order to even play twice. In the event that a Wild Card tie occurs between 2 teams which did not meet in the regular season, the tie-breaker is total points scored over the course of the season. If that could possibly be a tie, the owners of the 2 teams lace up the gloves, and with the entire league in attendance, & slug it out with the FFL as the scoring panel and judges of the fight.
