Stone Cold Lionhearts - 71
Tony's Tigers - 57

MVP: Donovan McNabb - 23 pts

It wasn't as easy as it was in the 1999 Superbowl, but the Stone Cold Lionhearts managed to dispose of the Tigers once again on the way to winning the second FFL Title of their short history. Donovan McNabb gave the Lionhearts their first respectable post-season performance at the quarterback position, leading the team with 23 points in this game. Tight end Tony Gonzalez added 18 points, and defenseman Jeremiah Trotter set a new FFL Superbowl record with 13 points, removing from the record-books the nice 9-point performances of both Derrick Thomas and Bruce Smith back in 1996. Despite getting zero points from their two key offensive players--- Shaun Alexander and Marvin Harrison, the Stone Cold Lionhearts rolled to their second FFL Championship. By just appearing in this game, the Lionhearts become the first team in FFL history to make the Superbowl in three straight seasons. And by winning the game, the Lionhearts become the third team in league history to win the Championship more than once. The Lionhearts join the Midwest Menace as the teams that now have TWO Championships, and both teams are now just one Title behind the Anorexic Toads franchise that built their success back in the mid 1990's. Like so many teams in the league, Tony's Tigers have never, ever defeated the Stone Cold Lionhearts. But unlike so many teams in the league, the Tigers have had more shots at this than any NON-division team. With losses in the 1999 and 2001 Superbowls, the Tigers are now 0-5 in their career versus this franchise. For the second straight game, running back Shawn Bryson led the Tigers in scoring, but this time with a meager 10 points. Receivers Marty Booker and Jerry Rice added 9 points apiece, but it was not enough to handle the Lionhearts, as the Tigers came just a game short of their first FFL Title for the second time three years.
