1995 FFL SUPERBOWL

Denver Bad Dogs - 48

Midwest Menace - 46.5

MVP:  John Elway, 15 points

The Midwest Menace had firmly entrenched themselves as the Superbowl favorite with a record 68.6 per game scoring average, and their duo of Bret Favre & Barry Sanders which had emerged as the new most feared duo in the FFL.  The Bad Dogs ranked only 5th in the FFL Scoring Race, but they were not taken lightly in this Superbowl.  In the closest Superbowl of the 1990’s, the Denver Bad Dogs were fittingly led to victory by their franchise quarterback John Elway and his 15 points…Elway was named the MVP of this Superbowl.  The Bad Dogs also got 10 points from running back Rashaan Salaam in this Superbowl to gain a little redemption after their questionable trade earlier in the year which sent Emmitt Smith to the Wildcats for Salaam.  The Midwest Menace were not let down by their MVP from the regular season, as quarterback Bret Favre led all scorers in this Superbowl with 19 points.  But the Menace was indeed let down by their impressive running back duo of Barry Sanders & Marshall Faulk.  When the regular season had ended, the Menace had played 25 career games that featured BOTH Sanders & Faulk in the lineup… and not even once had BOTH been shutout in the same game.  But in our 1995 Superbowl they both took a big fat zero.  This would be tough to swallow for a Menace team that lost by a mere 1.5 points.
