1999 FFL SUPERBOWL

Stone Cold Lionhearts - 62

Tony’s Tigers - 18

MVP:  Edgerrin James, 19 points

The Stone Cold Lionhearts came into this FFL Superbowl without a single game lost in their career.  They had a near perfect 13-0-1 season and had put up an impressive outing in the first round of the playoffs to defeat the Gamblers.  It would have been a complete shame to see this team go undefeated to this point only to lose the Superbowl to the Tigers.  But the Lionhearts made sure this wouldn’t happen with an easy 62-18 victory in the big game.  Running back Edgerrin James once again led the way for the Lionhearts with 19 points, setting a new FFL Superbowl record for running backs on his way to becoming the MVP of the 1999 Superbowl.  Also bringing double digit performances in this game for the Lionhearts were Marvin Harrison, Shawn Springs, and Bret Conway, as they rolled to the easy victory.  The Tigers needed a big performance from their franchise quarterback Peyton Manning, since this was the only position on the field where the Tigers were better than their opponnent.  Sadly, the Tigers got only 5 points from Manning, even though he was actually the co-leader for the team along with tight end Roland Williams.  The 44-point margin of victory made this victory the biggest blowout in FFL Superbowl history and allowed the Lionhearts to finish their rookie season without EVER being beaten.
