| Final Furlong Racing News Upset in Cozzene |
| Starview Downs- Probably one of the wildest races of the day was the Cozzene Stakes, a race for three-year-old fillies. As the horses began to load, the number four horse, Miss Understood, let out a racket nearly throwing her Jockey and raming into the number three horse Chief's Angel. On the other side of Miss Understood, Thunder Flight began to get ancy.When all of the horses where loaded, the real action of the day began. Thunder Flight and Mystic Silver broke first, duling for the lead. Dancing Charms settled in third and Flashy Miss held onto fourth.As the horses pounded down the backstretch, Thunder Flight began to tire and Miss Understood took a brief lead before being overpowered by Dancing Charms and Mystic Silver. Down the stretch the horses spread out in a straight line, Dancing Charms in the lead and Chief's Angel trailing the feild. Dancing Charms came under the wire, four lengths ahead of Mystic Silver. Miss Understood finished third, Thunder Flight held ontp fourth and Flashy Miss took fifth. Chief's Angel finished last. Other winners of the day included Celtic Mist, Flying Advance, Royal Red, Starview's Arora, Enduring Freedom, Quiet Angel, Falcon and Given Star. |
