| QPS- It was the fifth race of the day, the Filly Flight, and the favorite, Akuvita, really showed us what a determind filly can do. Moring Glory took an early lead, with Misty's Highlight and Mystic Silver settling off the pace. In the first turn, Moring Glory tired and Misty's Highlight sprinted to the lead. Mystic Silver hung onto third, and Akuvita began to make her move on the inside. As the horses pounded down the backstretch, Akuvita caught up to the leader and the two duled for first. As the two flew away from the pack, Akuvita slowly pulled away. Misty's Highlight faught on gamly, furious about having a horse in front of her, but just as she began to gain again Akuvita let on anotehr burst of speed and went under the wire alone. |
