The day ahd been a long one, filled with glorious victories and agonizing defeats. As the paddock call for the last race of the day sounded, tension and expectiancy filled the air. Even the horses felt it as they tossed their heads and flared their nostrils. As the horses loaded the gate, a quiet hush filled the air. Sunstar, in the fourth position, began to get exited and was qi\uickly quited. Emediently the gates flew open and the horses lept out determinedly. Kazzam broke first, followed quickly by Norab. Behind them the rest of the field followed closley. A quiet hush fell over the grandstand as the horses rounded the first turn. Soon, See Me Fly started to move up on the field, her great strides gaining distance quickly. As the pack moved toward the stretch she stumbled and fell behind again. Then Unbridled Heart began to make his move. Many spectators later commented on the amazing speed as he rapidly gained fourth, and then third, then second, and soon he was leading the pack. As the horses turned to make a dash to the finish, Maholla's Victory had a sudden burst of speed and was running neck to neck with Unbridled Heart. However, Unbridled Heart let it go and flew to the wire a few strides ahead of Maholla's Victory. Sunstar took third, ahead of Kazzam and Norab was fifth ahead of See Me Fly.
