Starview Downs- As the horses paraded around the track before the third race of the day, the crowd was silent, considering their picks. The favorites, Stroke of Power and Classic Cat, where the most debated. Many people said that Classic Cat, two time winner of the Breeder's Cup Spront, wouldn't be able to handle the distance. Others claimed he'd already proved he could. A good deal more however, had faith in the Starview colt, Starview Hakushi, owned by Townsend Acres US and Silver Hill Stables. The first five horses loaded smoothly, but the number six horse Love's Tricks decided to put up a fight. When they finally got him settled they loaded the number seven horse, Starview Hakushi. Their where a few seconds of dead silence, then the gates flew open! Seven powerful Thoroughbreds pounded down the track. Classic Cat took an early lead, with AP Storm and Townsend Lord fighting for second. Behind them Love Potion was throwing a fit, trying to catch the leaders. Jockey Diane Nelson was doing all but strangle the stalllion to keep him behind the leaders. Starview Hakushi, Love's Tricks and Stroke of Power took up the rear. As the horses came into the first turn, Love Potion got away from his jockey and charged up on the leaders. Starview Hakushi slowly began moving up on the inside.
