Welcome From the Desk of the President & CEO – Rick Blundell

I would like to welcome you to the lingual season of “Around the Horn Fantasy Baseball League”. I would like to thank all of you for joining our new league. A lot of you, I already know and there are some of new faces to. The purpose of this League is to have fun, make new friends, and try and put together a team that can win the “World Series”.

I would also like to thank Rich, Deany, and Scott for all their hard work getting the FSZ room, Sportsjunkies site, and all the Web pages we needed done to get started. I would like to introduce to you our “Board of Governors”. They will run the League on all maters but I will still have the final say.

For the new members that don’t know us, here is a little about us.

From the time that I started playing in a sim league, I loved it. I love Baseball and played till I got sick in 1988 then I coached in Little League and then ran the whole “Burton Youth League” for 9 years. My dream someday was to manage a Minor League team or a Major League team. Mike gave me my chance in a sim league. I found that I spend hours a day either in the No-Hit room or checking ways to make my Cardinals better. As my wife and kids know because I don’t get much done other than that.

Mike (No-Hit Commissioner) has taught me a lot and I would like to thank him for that and joining our league. He has given me advice and a whole lot more. No-Hit is also on FSZ.

As most of you know Rich is my son. He has taught me what Mike didn’t and has helped me in a lot of ways, reading stuff to me over and over again until I can understand it. He knows Baseball and also played for years (he had a good teacher). In No-Hit he is one of the original GM’s and his Giants have made the play-offs every season. He is also the Commissioner of his own Hockey League (XHL). So with him as Commissioner, we’ve got a good one. The XHL is also on FSZ.

With Scott we have a guy that runs and owns FSZ and Sportsjunkies. Not only does he own them but he is the GM in many leagues. Scott also is a good friend and knows Baseball.

Then we come to Deany, he is another great guy that is smart as a whip and done our web pages for us. He is also a friend that knows Baseball and is in many leagues.

The Trade Reviewers we have Craig, Jason, and Mario. All three know Baseball and the sim. They can do most trades blind folded. If they tell me a trade is lop sided I don’t even need to look, I have that much faith in them. But as your President I must check, and I know they would want me to.

So as you can see each member of the Board is a great choice and were hand picked to do the best job for our GM’s, you. If at any time you have a question any of us will be able to answer it, if we can’t at that time, you will have an answer very soon. Or you can e-mail me yourself. I also would like each and every one of you to read over the rules and if something needs to be addressed we can do it before we start.
