Development:
The design for the low-wing monoplane Ambrosini S.7 was
- finished by Sergio
Stefanutti in 1939. It was fast with fully
- retractable landing gear and
wooden construction.
- The S.7 was intended to be flown in races, and it
inspired
- several light fighters which were used in World War II.
- During
the war, it virtually disappeared, but in 1949,
- production was resumed
with few revisions.
