Things I've learned so far about what helps:
- rest!!!
- warm showers
- massage therapy
- drinking only pure mountain spring water or glacier water
- very slow and gradual stretching
- getting rid of as many chemicals as possible
- switch to natural products
- Dr. Bronner's natural peppermint soap is a good one
- orange oil cleaning products
- stay away from packaged foods, fix fresh food instead without chemicals
- wearing natural fiber clothing
- Reiki treatments
- dejunking and simplifying the space around you
- taking care of yourself for once, instead of everyone else first all the time
- letting go
- laughter - find something to laugh about every day.
- being grateful (and write it down everyday) - even for minutest things, like:
- "I'm still breathing, this is good."
- "I was able to walk to the bathroom today instead of having to crawl there."
- more rest!!!
- living in a place where there is clean air
- asking for help
- cutting back on sugar and dairy
- staying away from aspartame and other artificial sweeteners
- taking anti-depressants (Celexa helps me)
- it not only helps with depression, but it helps with muscle pain and being able to sleep
- de-stressing (simplifying) your life as much as possible
- whatever makes sleeping more comfortable
- more pillows in different places
- muscle relaxers
- relaxing music or nature sounds
- naps - often
- learning how to say no when it's in your best interest (and without feeling guilty)
- deep breathing and relaxation techniques
- Tiger Balm Analgesic ointment
- freshly juiced raw vegetables and fruits
- especially parsley, carrots, apples, celery, beets, oranges, lemon
- oh, and did I mention rest?!!!!
