These pictures were taken in Hamilton on January 15, 2005.
This is a view of the University of Waikato campus, coming up from the
Orchard Park Cottages where I stayed for the first few weeks. I came up
that driveway then turned at the top of the stairs and took that
picture.
Continuing into campus, here is the view coming up toward the library,
which is the large building whose corner you can see just opposite
K-block. If you squint, you can see a red dot on the ground. The dots
form a path that navigates through the centre of campus.
This is a first look at downtown Hamilton, Victoria Street. Later on
down the street, there will be malls and such.
This is the Waikato River, which runs through the centre of town. There
are paths along the river bank for walking and biking. There is also a
boat tour, which I have not done yet. There are some lovely views of the
river; this is just a first look.
