These pictures were taken in and around Waiheke Island during the week of April 18, 2005.

Waiheke Island, about half an hour by ferry from Auckland, is a popular day trip destination known for its gorgeous beaches. Here was my first look at them.
Another view of the beach, from atop it :) This beach is the prettier of the two main ones, but it is a fair distance from the town so I only went there the one time.
Another view of the beach.
A perspective shot of the beach. There really isn't that much to say about it. It's a big sandy beach.
These next few are at the beach in town. The town is called Oneroa and is fairly tiny, consisting of a few cafes that all close by suppertime, some surf shops, a used bookstore and a visitor information centre.
Inland a bit, on the same beach. I befriended a local who took me walking among these giant outcroppings right on the beach, some of which were caves.
A final perspective shot on the beaches of Waiheke Island.
