The next morning everyone went with Anna to the airport to see her off. Her and Justin kissed and said their goodbyes. Anna would be gone for almost a month and knew that she would miss Justin horribly. They had gotten a lot closer over the past two months and they both liked that.
None of them had big plans for the day so they sat around the hotel and chilled at the pool for most of the day. That night they all decided to head out to Star Bucks for some cappuccinos, well almost all of them. Joey and Vickie decided that they wanted to go to Innocence Beyond, a local club. They were both more of the party type goers and wanted to go dancing. Vickie told them that if they didn’t go to Innocence Beyond they would go to Mangos, a club relatively close to the hotel.
Joey put on a hat and a big turtle neck sweater and then he and Vickie headed off to the club. She had on a tight turtle neck, some tight jeans, and a pair of Doc Martin boots. They all agreed to meet back at the hotel at midnight, then they would all find something else to do.
It was nine when they all got to where they were going. Justin, Cierra, JC, Lance, and Missy all sat at the bar counter and sipped on their cappuccinos. They sat around for an hour and talked and then Lance did something that Missy totally didn’t tolerate. Melissa understood that girls were going to flirt with him and all that, she knew that was part of who he was.
All of them sat there and talked and then out of no where some skinny beautiful blonde chic came over and sat right next to Lance. “So, how you like your cappuccino?” she asked.
“It’s great,” he said back and then looked back over to talk to Missy and the others.
“Lance, do you think I could get your autograph?” she said and handed him a small napkin that had the Star Bucks logo on it.
“Sure, no problem,” he said. “Do you want JC and Justin to sign it too?”
“I’d appreciate that a lot,” she said back in her high pitched fake voice.
Lance passed it down and got the other guys to sign it and then gave it back to the girl. She smiled and thanked him. Missy had no problem with him signing things and talking to girls. The girl continued to sit there and nonchalantly gaze over at Lance. Finally Lance turned towards her and asked her if he could buy her a cappuccino. That was something that Missy didn’t appreciate.
Melissa’s eyes widened as she watched Lance pay for the drink for the girl who sat next to him. Justin tapped JC on the arm and said, “dude messed up. Look at that scowl on Missy’s face.” JC nodded his head in agreement.
A couple of minutes later the girl got up and left, but not before she giggled and thanked Lance. As soon as she left Melissa slapped the side of his arm. “What are you thinking?” she practically yelled.
“What are you talking about?” he said back.
“You know exactly what I am talking about. It’s one thing to be friendly to someone Lance, but there is somewhere to draw the line.”
“What, are you mad cuz I bought her a drink?” Lance said back. He was getting frustrated.
“Yes! You don’t just buy girls you meet a drink unless you wanna hook up with them. And you sure as hell don’t do it when your girlfriend is sitting right next to you,” she said. She started to stand up.
Lance grabbed her arm and said, “look, I’m sorry.”
“I don’t want to hear it right now Lance. I’m going back to the hotel. We’ll talk about this later.” With that she got up and walked out.
Lance started to get up to go after her but Cierra told him to let her be. “She just needs to cool off. Missy used to be the real jealous type and she has changed a lot Lance. She understands that girls are going to climb all over you and she deals with that. But honestly, you didn’t need to buy that girl a drink for no reason.”
“She was just sitting there,” he said.
“Doesn’t matter dude,” Justin said.
“Ugh,” Lance said and put his elbows up on the counter.
“She’ll be okay later,” Cierra reassured him.
“I hope so,” he said back.
Music filled the room and Joey and Vickie danced hard. They had been at the club for a little over an hour and were not tired yet. They were both used to partying at clubs. No one had really approached Joey that night. He was well hidden amongst the crowds of people in the room. Every now and then Vickie and Joey would kiss each other just to get closer to one another.
About ten minutes later Vickie told Joey that she would be right back. She had to go to the bathroom. She ran to the bathroom and looked in the mirror.
“Damn, I look like hell,” she said. She turned on the water and patted some of it on her face. She got her hands wet again and then ran them through her hair. She went into the stall, went to the bathroom and then came back out and washed her hands. She shut off the water and started to dry her hands when she heard some girls giggling outside the door. Vickie walked closer to the door and listened to what was being said.
“He’s so cute.”
“I can’t believe he is here.”
“I wonder if the other guys are here too.”
Right then Vickie knew that someone had recognized Joey. She stayed standing at the door and listened to the girls for a few more minutes.
“Clarissa is so flirting with him.”
“Well, he is so flirting with her.”
“Oh my God, look at that, he’s going onto the dance floor with her.”
That was all that Vickie needed to hear. She opened the door and looked at the dance floor and saw Joey all over some girl. She walked closer to the center of the floor to see if Joey would notice her. He didn’t. She walked up to him and tapped him on the back. He turned around to see who it was and he had a huge smile on his face. When he noticed who it was his smile faded and he took his hands off of the girl in front of him.
Vickie got a look of disgust on her face and she reached up and slapped Joey across the face. “DON’T talk to me,” she said and turned around and started to walk off.
“Shit,” he whispered. “Vic, wait a minute,” he yelled and ran after her. When they got right outside of the club she stopped and turned to him. He tried to touch her and he backed up.
“What?”
“Vickie, I’m sorry. I was just,”
She cut him off, “yeah, you were just putting your hands all over some girl. I thought we had something Joey. I guess I was wrong.”
“No, we do. I didn’t mean,” she cut him off again.
“I don’t want to hear your lies. I am gonna go clear my thoughts. MAYBE I will talk to you about this later,” she said and started to walk off.
“Vickie, please. I’m sorry,” his words trailed off as he watched her walk down the road. He sat on the curb with his hands over his face. He pulled his hat down and then got up and started to walk toward the direction of the hotel.
Cierra, JC, Justin, and Lance sat around the counter at Star Bucks and debated on going back to the hotel early. Lance wanted to go back to the hotel to work things out with Missy. He realized that he just wasn’t thinking when he bought that girl a drink. They were about to leave when a guy stopped over to talk to Cierra. JC, Lance, and Justin were all talking to each other and didn’t notice the guy who stood at Cierra’s side.
“So my lady, how are you?” he asked.
“I am fine thanks,” she said.
“That’s good,” he said back with a smile on his face. He nodded his head up and said, “so, you wanna go back to my place?”
“Are you kidding me? I think not,” she said.
The guy leaned over and tried to kiss Cierra. She leaned back and was about to yell at him when she heard JC start yelling.
“What are you doing Cierra?” he asked in a very upset tone.
“JC, nothing, this guy,” and before she had the chance to finish, the guy got up and had left.
“It looked like you were kissing him to me,” JC said. Justin and Lance just stood there quiet. They didn’t see what had happened so they agreed with JC.
“I was not, he tried to k...” JC cut her off.
“I thought you would be difference Ci,” he said.
“JC, I can’t believe you! This guy just tried to pick me up. He asked me if I wanted to go home with him and then he tried to kiss me. I backed off and was about to slap him when you started yelling and it scared him off.”
“He did. So you didn’t,” this time she cut him off.
“I can’t believe you even thought that I would do that JC,” she said and got up. She stormed out of the Cafe and started to cross the street. JC ran out of the Cafe and yelled to her.
“Cierra, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize. I know that you wouldn’t,” she cut him off again.
She stood in the middle of the road and turned toward JC. “No JC, you didn’t know, or you wouldn’t have accused me of it.” Cierra turned to cross the road the rest of the way when she heard JC yell. She turned back toward him and saw him running toward her, but before she knew it she was on the ground.
A taxi cab came around the corner and pegged her right from the side. The car wasn’t going very fast so it wasn’t a hard impact, but it was enough to knock her out cold. JC and the other guys ran to her side. JC knelt next to her and felt the same pain that he felt when he held her in his arms the day she almost drown.
The cab driver called 911 and they had an ambulance there within minutes. JC and Lance got into the ambulance with Cierra and Justin volunteered to get a hold of the others.
Justin called up Joey’s cell and asked him where he was. “I’m about half to the hotel. I’m cold, walking, and Vickie slapped me. What’s your deal? You sound out of it.”
“Cierra has been in an accident. JC and Lance are on the way to the hospital with her now. Where is Vickie?”
“Oh my God, is she okay?” Joey asked.
“I don’t know yet,” he said, “where is Vickie?” he asked again.
“I dunno, she bailed on me. I pissed her off and she took off.”
“Well, I’ll look for her. Call the hotel and tell Missy to get to the hospital. Her and Lance had a fight so she is probably sulking in the Lobby. You get there as soon as you can too dude, JC is gonna need some support.”
“What happened?” Joey asked.
“Well C and Cierra were arguing and she stopped in the road to yell and a taxi cab turned the corned and hit her.”
“Man. Alright, I am calling the hotel now. Uhm, try Mangos for Vickie.”
“Will do. Thanks Joe. See you in a few,” Justin said and hung up the phone, hailed a cab, and told the driver to take him to Mangos.
JC sat next to the bed and grabbed Cierra's hand... he looked at her with tears in his eyes and thanked the Lord that he brought Cierra back to him. When Justin's hand brushed Cierra's, she looked towards him, and asked where she was.
"Cierra, hun, you're in the hospital, you were in…" JC got cut off when Cierra heard where she was.
"I'm in the hospital?"
"Yes, you..."
"Who are you? Why are you here with me?" Cierra seemed so confused. She really had no clue who this guy sitting next to her, trying to comfort her, was.
"...Do you know who you are?"
"I'm… Cierra... I remember that I was walking down the street with... I dunno who I was with… then I ... I can't remember." Cierra was looking around the room as she was trying to tell JC what happened.
"Cierra, I'm JC... I'm your boyfriend. Don't you remember me? You were walking with me." JC's heart seemed to almost tear at the thought of the having the girl that he loved, not knowing who he was.
"I'm sorry... I don't. Maybe if I had some time."
JC wanted to cry. Why couldn't she remember him... they just spent the last six months of their lives together... Sure there were complications, but everyone had them. He told Cierra that he needed some air and that he would be back soon. He also told her that there were some other people that wanted to see her. JC started to walk out of the room, but before he hit the door he was stopped by a faint cry.
"Uhm... JC, I think I…"
“Yes?” he said back to her.
“Nevermind,” she said and then closed her eyes.
JC walked back out into the waiting room and sat down. Melissa came over to him and asked him what was wrong. “She doesn’t even know who I am,” he said with tears in his eyes.
“JC, maybe it’ll fade really soon. Maybe she is still just in shock. How does she look?”
“She’s got a few bumps and bruises, but otherwise she looks ok. She has an IV in though.” JC put his head in his hands and wanted to cry.
Melissa was about to head back to her room when she saw Joey run in. “I got here as fast as I could,” Joey said. “How is she?”
Vickie looked over at him and then looked away. Justin walked over to him and told him what was going on. Melissa wanted so badly to hold Lance. She needed some comfort. She looked over at him and bit her lip. He walked over to her, and she threw her arms around him and apologized.
“No sweetie, I’m sorry,” he said.
“Missy, can I go back there first?” Justin asked.
“Yeah Justy. Go ahead,” she said.
“Thanks,” he said and then headed back to her room. Justin walked in and his heart sank when he saw he laying there in the bed. He walked over to her side and grabbed her hand. Cierra looked at him and tried hard to think of who he was.
“Your love is like a river, peaceful and deep. Your soul is like a secret that I never could keep. When I look into your eyes I know that it’s true. God must have spent, a little more time on you,” Justin sang in a quiet whisper almost.
It was like a huge brick hit her over the head. She got a flashback of so many things. Cierra’s eyes brightened up as she said, “Justin.”
Justin smiled, “I’m here Ci.”
“What happened?”
“You were in an accident, but everything is going to be fine. Missy and Vickie want to see you. Can I send them in?”
“Please,” she said. She knew who they were.
Justin walked out into the waiting room and told Missy to go back there. Missy, Lance, and Vickie headed back there to see Cierra. Before they got to the room Joey yelled.
“Wait, Vickie,” he said.
She took a deep breath and turned to him. “Yes?”
He walked over to her and grabbed her hands. “I am so sorry. Please forgive me,” he had tears formed in his eyes.
She looked at him, licked her lips and said, “don’t do it again,” and kissed him on the cheek. “Come with me?”
“Of course,” he said and then the four of them walked in to talk to Cierra.
Justin sat down next to JC. JC looked at him and said, “dude she didn’t even know who I was.”
“C, maybe you didn’t give her time. Let her hear your voice. She’ll come around.” Justin didn’t want to tell him that she remembered who he was. Justin was afraid that it might hurt JC to know that. By the time JC went back in there he figured that Cierra would know what was going on.
“I’ll go back in there in a couple minutes. When the others get out,” JC said.
Justin sat there with him until the others came out of Cierra’s room. They weren’t in there for long. Melissa went over to Justin and motioned for him to follow her. Justin got up and walked to the other side of the room with her.
“Yeah?” he said.
“She knows what’s going on now. I think it was just a huge shock or something. She knew who all of us were, and she said that ‘Justin Timberlake just sang to her’. We gotta get JC back there.”
Justin couldn’t help but chuckle at what Cierra had said to them. He walked over to JC and told him that he should go in there to see her again. JC agreed and got up. He was partially down the hall when he grabbed the charm on his bracelet that she had gotten him and he said, “come back to me.”
JC was about to walk in the door when he saw Cierra reach over to the stand next to the bed. All of her belongings were in a small bag. She opened the bag and pulled out her bracelet. She looked at it and smiled. It all came back to her right then. She knew exactly what everyone wanted her to know.
Cierra looked up and saw JC standing in the doorway. “JC,” she said.
He walked in the door and made his way to her bed. She grabbed his hand and said, “I’m here.”
JC’s eyes filled with tears. She was back, she came back to him. He knew that things were going to be fine. He leaned over and kissed her and told her that he loved her and that he always would. She grabbed the charm on his bracelet and the charm on hers and said, “Forever.”
