Chapter Six

JC woke up freezing. He reached for Angie to see if she was all right but he couldn't find her. He darted straight up. "Angie?!"
    "Hey, I'm right over here."
JC turned toward her voice to see her fully dressed and pulling out the tent. "What are you doing?!?"
"I'm putting up the tent," she said casually, trying to make the situation less awkward.
JC kicked the sleeping bag off of him and wrapped the blanket around his waist before he walked over to him. "You almost died last night, and you decided to get up and put up the damn tent!"
"Well, I didn't did I," she said avoiding his angry eyes. "Geez what side of the bed did you wake up on." JC angrily grabbed her arm and whipped her around. She stumbled and rammed into his bare chest. "JC, what the hell...."
"You scared me to death yesterday," he said angrily. "I thought I was going to loose you and you just get up like nothing happened and start putting up the damn tent!?"
"I..." Tears began to fill her eyes. "I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking."
"You damn right you weren't," he said as he shook her.
    "I'm sorry," she cried.
When he saw the tears in her eyes, he let out a soft curse. "Aw hell," he said and then crushed his lips against hers. He heard a surprised moan escape the back of her throat as he clutched her hair with his fist and deepened the kiss. He then tore his lips away and looked down at her dazed look. "Now you can finish puting up the damn tent," he said and then left her there still trying to figure out what the hell just happened.

While Angie was putting up the tent, furiously wishing JC to hell, Justin Timberlake was sprawled out on his couch at home. He had nothing on but a pair of Tommy Hillfiger boxers and he pretty much hasn't moved from his couch since they started their break. He was watching an episode of Jerry Springer, which was titled, Surprise sweetie! I'm Gay!
Justin was chuckling over a couple where the man had just told the woman he was in love with his brother. "That's just wrong," he laughed. The brother came out to the stage and when they started kissing, Justin leaped for the remote, spilling his bowl of popcorn everywhere. "Woah, that's just too much than I needed to see!"
He decided to turn it on MTV, a channel he swore to stay away from all this week. But it was either watching two men kiss or MTV, so he stuck with watching TRL. He was laughing at Carson's red hair when the phone rang. He tiredly got up, and shuffled his bare feet to the phone. "Hello?"
    "Justin, hey."
"Mrs. Chasez," he said surprisingly. "What a surprise, how are you?"
She let out a shaky sigh. "Not too good, Justin."
    "What's wrong?"
"JC was suppose to call me when he got to the cabin and he hasn't called yet. He was suppose to call yesterday."
He let out a sigh. "I'm sure he's just fine, Mrs. Chasez. Maybe he just forgot, can you reach his cell phone?"
"No, he said he wasn't going to bring it, Justin something has happened...."
"Don't even think it, I'm sure he's fine."
"Justin, do you remember Angie Morgan?"
"Angie, Angie," he pondered. "Yeah, of course, Heather's friend. JC and Angie fought like cats and dogs."
"Yes, they did. She was on that plane, too. We told her she could use the other cabin that Frank owns."
    "Yeah?"
"Her mother hasn't recieved a call from her either."
Justin's heart lept up to her throat. "Okay," he said shakily. "I'll call the rest of the guys and then I'm on the first plane up there."
"Thanks Justin, I've already talked to Chris and Dani and they're on their way. But I haven't gotten a hold of Lance or Joey."
"I'll take care of it, Mrs. Chasez," he said. "And don't worry, everything is going to be okay."
"I hope your right," she said and then hung up.
Justin slowly hung up the phone and then buried his face with his hands as he tried to fight the tears. "He has to be okay," he cried. "JC, please be okay."

"Hey, Angie?" JC called to her while he went through his pack.
She unzipped her tent and poked her head out. "Yeah?"
    "You hungry?"
She was famished, she realized all of the sudden. With all that's been going on she almost forgot. After the surprised kiss, she finished putting up the tent. A task that was challenging, but she manged just fine. When she was done, she didn't bother looking over to see what JC was doing, she just walked in the tent and shut herself off.
"Well, are you hungry or not?" he asked again when she didn't answer.
"Oh," she said as she crawled out. "Yeah, I haven't eaten in I don't know how long."
"Here," he said pulled out a bag of fritos. "We did have turkey to make a sandwhich but it went bad so I threw it in the river."
She shrugged. "I don't care. I'm just glad we have all this food."
"Yeah," he said as he ripped open the bag and offered her the first grab. She grabbed a handful and then sat down on the grass across from him. They munched in silence, taking turns with the bag. "Some time we need to....."
"Why did you kiss me?" she interrupted all of the sudden.
He was about to pop in another chip when he asked that, but he froze. He looked at her questioning eyes and then shrugged as he finished the chip. "I have no idea."
She let out a sarcstic laugh. "Well, thanks that makes me feel a whole lot better."
He sighed as he tossed the chip he was about to eat back in the bag and laid it at his feet. "Look, Angie," he said with a sigh. "I was mad, I...."
"You were mad so you kissed me?!"
"Dammit, will you let me finish?" he asked frustrated. "Please?"
    "Fine."
"Thank you.....Jeez. I was gonna say I was mad, and I was so angry, because I was scared....I...."
    "And??"
He rolled his eyes. "I don't know what I was thinking," he said as he stood up. "So just forget about it, okay?"
"Forget about it??" she asked as she stood up as well.
"Yes, it shouldn't be that hard, you and I both know it meant nothing."
"Well...yeah...sure," she stuttered as she avoided his eyes.
"Right?" he asked again when he noticed the hesitation in her voice.
She looked up at him, those blue eyes were absolutely captivating. Whenver she looked at him, she felt like a deer caught in headlights. She couldn't look away. "Of course," she finally said then tore her eyes away and looked at the ground.
"Right, so we don't have a problem anymore," JC said.
"Sure, no problem. As far as I'm concerned it never happened."
    "What?"
"The ki..." She saw his brow arched and laughed. "Nothing."
He smiled at her and watched her walk off. "Hey, Angie?"
    She turned around. "Yeah?"
He stuffed his hand in his jeans. "Besides the ki....the other thing were forgetting....I'm sorry for yelling at you."
She smiled. "Apology accepted."
