"Yes dear?" she asked with a grin.
"Please tell me that I am NOT dreaming and JC is really standing there....shirtless."
Natalie snickered. "Oh he's real all right. I don't think any dream could be that good. Now, smile and move your feet, before he catches you staring at him like a piece of meat."
"Oh lord," she groaned when she saw him rubbing his flat stomach. "That's just sinful."
"You know, he took off that shirt just to make you crazy," Natalie pointed out.
"And it's working."
"Well, make him crazy back and take of YOUR shirt," she whispered.
"Are you crazy?!" she asked as she turned to her.
"What's the big deal, your in the best shape I've ever seen you in, thanks to your dear trainer Kurt......take of the shirt and show that stomach."
Mary Ann looked at her friend with worry and then back to JC who was now staring at her with a devilish grin. "Oh, it's so on," she said as she gave him a cocky smile and then walked toward him. "Here you go."
JC grinned as he took the water from her hand. "Thanks," he said and then took a long gulp, as Mary Ann casually sipped hers.
She then watched him poor a little water in his hand, and nearly chocked on her own water when he ran the water through his hair. She took a gulp of her drink to swallow her groan as she watched water beads
running down his chest. She watched a bead run down his stomach and disapear under his...
"You ready?" he asked.
"Wha?" she said in a daze as she looked up at his blue eyes.
He grinned, knowing fully what he was doing to her. "I said, are you ready."
"Oh!" she said as she set down her drink. "Yeah, let me just take this off."
"Take what off?" he asked suddenly as he saw her fiddle with the hem of her shirt.
"My shirt," she said and then pulled the cotton over her head and grinned when she saw JC in a daze. "It sure get's hot in Orlando during this time of the year." She then tossed the shirt over his stunned face and grabbed the ball from his hands. "Let's get to it, Chasez."
Joey chuckled as he lifted the shirt off of his head.
"Have fun, man," he said with a grin.
JC eyed him. "I'm about to play one on one with a girl in a pair of black pants and a sports bra," he said with a grin. "I'm gonna have a damn good time."
Joey laughed and then sat on the grass next to Natalie. "Do you think M.A will have a chance?"
"Not a chance in hell," Natalie laughed as she stretched out her hurt ankle. "It's gonna be fun to watch though."
Mary Ann might have kicked some ass in HORSE, but JC was doing some major payback time by kicking M.A's ass in return. Even though, Mary Ann put up a good fight, and was still a challenge, JC was more stronger and
quick on his feet than she.
"Dammit!" Mary Ann cursed when JC made the jump shot.
"I can't take this shit anymore."
"You won't have to much longer," he said breathlessly as he
threw the ball at her. "Game point. Check."
"Check," she said angrily and threw the ball at him hard.
He grinned as he barely caught it. "Hostility will get you nowhere."
Joey yawned and leaned toward Natalie. "Wanna go and watch a movie or something."
She nodded. "Good idea, I don't want to get in the middle of the battle here."
He chuckled and then stood up and reached for her hand. She took it, and he pulled her up from the grass. "You know," she said as she wiped the grass of her butt. "I still haven't seen Superman II."
He grinned. "Well, Nat," he said as he stuck an arm through hers. "It's a date."
"Okay, ya ready," JC bosted as he began to dribble in front of her.
Mary Ann crouched down in a defense position and watched his stomach...his beautiful stomach for his next move. "I'm ready, Chasez."
He did a couple of more quick dribbles before he drove to his right. Mary Ann tried to stop him, but he went by her so without thinking she reached out and grabbed his arm. "Hey!" JC exclaimed as he pulled on her and dribbled with one hand toward's the basket. "You cheater."
"Hey, you know what they say," she grunted as she pulled at him. "If ya can't win...CHEAT."
JC laughed as he tried to get away and then he threw up his hand and shot it awkwardly in the air. It bounced of the rim and off towards the grass. "Hell," JC said as he tried to run to it.
"Not so fast," Mary Ann said as she tugged on his arm and ran past him towards the ball.
"Where do you think your going," JC said and then wrapped his arms around her bare stomach and lifted her up against his chest while her legs danced in the air.
"JC, put me down!" she laughed.
"Gladly," he said as he plopped her down and ran towards the ball. He was almost there when Mary Ann all of the sudden jumped on his back. "Ooof....Ya little beeeaach."
"You're going down pretty boy!" she teased as she slid of his back and tried to attack him.
"What do you think your trying to do," he said with a laugh as he grabbed her wrists to keep her away. She was hitting her feet at his ankels with a determined look on her face.
"I'm trying to trip your ass," she said as they both forgot about the possession of the ball.
"Oh, I see. You mean like this?" he asked and then yanked her against his bare chest and tucked a foot behind hers and pulled her down.
She yellped as she fell flat on her back and JC fell right on top of her. "Yeah, like that," she said in pain as she placed a hand on the back of her head. "Ow."
He chuckled. "Are you okay?"
She looked up at him. "I just got body slammed," she said dryly. "How do you think I feel?"
"Ya big baby," he teased with a smile. "You started it."
"Yeah, whatever," she said as she rubbed her head. "Good thing we landed in grass, or else my head would of popped open."
"Ahh, poor baby," he said sarcastically.
"You have no pity for me do you?" she asked.
He shook his head. "Nope."
She snorted a laugh. "Figures. I'll get you back one of these days, Chasez."
"I'll be waiting," he said with a wink.
She didn't know how, or when..but all of the sudden she became very aware of their position. His whole body was weighing her into the soft grass and the feel of his bare stomach rubbing against hers made her insides dance.
His silly grin was no more and now he wore a serious look on his face. His colblat blue eyes scattered around her face, until it locked on her lips. She felt her heart race as his head tilted closer to her and she closed her eyes and waited for the moment she had always dreamt. She felt his warm breath on her lips and....
"God!" she gasped when she felt the vibration against her hip. "What the...." She looked up at him and saw him turn red.
He then reached down the side of his body and stuck his hand between their bodies as he pulled out his beeper. "My beeper," he finally said.
She looked at his embarrassed eyes and then let out a giggle. "I sure hope it was."
He just gave her a funny look before he studied his beeper. "It's Ty," he said and then shifted off of her body and stood up.
Mary Ann closed her eyes and almost groaned in protest when she felt the weight of his body disappear. She opened her eyes to see JC standing
above her with his hand out. She sighed as she grabbed it and he yanked her up. "What does your brother want?" she asked as she wipped the grass off
her butt.
"I need to pick him up from his friends house," he said as they walked across the driveway to their shirts. He picked it up and threw it over his head and M.A did the same. "Walk me to my car?" he asked.
"Sure," she said and followed him down the driveway to his jeep.
He turned to her. "I'll call ya'll later," he said as he opened the door to his car.
She nodded. "Okay. We'll be here....watching Superman I bet."
He chuckled and then pulled her into his arms. "I think the four of us are gonna hang out at Joey's house tonight," he said as he pulled back from her. Me and Joey were talking about hanging out while we cook out, drink some beers...nothing fancy."
"Sounds good."
He smiled. "I'll see ya tonight," he said and then kissed her forehead and then got in his car. He waved at her, before he put the car in reverse and left the driveway.
"I need to tell Ty he has really bad timing," she mumbled and then walked back in the house.
"I'm gonna try not to wear my boot tonight," Natalie said as the girls got ready for their night with the guys.
Mary Ann turned away from the mirror and stopped and paused from putting on her make up. "Is it feeling any better?"
"Yeah, a little," she said as she walked on it lightly. "My head still hurts though."
"Migraines?"
She nodded. "I had one when I was in the shower."
Mary Ann winced. "That sucks. It's normal right?"
"The doctor said so, yeah," she said as she bent over to put on her nine west black boots.
Both girls were wearing jeans tonight. Mary Ann had a darker color on, while Natlie wore a lighter color. Natalie wore her hair down, and her curls fell freely around to fram her face. Mary Ann wore her hair half
up in a clip, but small strands of her hair rested against the sides of her face. Natalie wore a bright blue top that fitted her upper body and her arms, but flared at the wrists. And Mary Ann wore a tight black top, with long sleeves and a scooped neck.
They weren't fancy, but conservative. They were just going to hang out wiht the guys while they cooked out, so they wanted to look good, but dress comfortable at the same time. "So, did anything happen on the couch
today?" she asked with a grin as she stabbed her mascara in the small bottle.
Natalie looked at her wierd. "Excuse me?"
She chuckled as she brushed her eye lashes. "No playing footsie under the blankets?"
Natalie rolled her eyes. "No. Come on now."
Mary Ann shrugged. "Well, you two were sharing a blanket and a both stretched out on the couch. You're feet had to have met in the middle."
Natalie cleared her throat. "Our feet MIGHT have grazed a couple of times....big deal."
Mary Ann laughed. "Since when are you so damn modest?"
Natalie gave her a smirk. "Whatever, what happened between you and JC? Huh Huh?"
Mary Ann shrugged. "Nothing much, just played around and he tackled me and fell on top of me on the grass and almost kissed me but his damn brother paged him right before we kissed and I'm really pissed."
Natlie froze and her jaw dropped as she studied her friend in the mirror. "You serious?"
Mary Ann looked at her in the mirror. "Dead serious."
"Woah," she finally said. "Well you're far from modest."
"Exactly," she said as she studied herself and then turned toward her. "Ready?"
"Let's do it," she said and then the girls walked out of the room and headed downstairs.
When they got to the den, they both stopped short when no one was in the room. "Where is everyone?" Natalie asked.
Just then the front door opened and JC and Joey walked in the front door. "Hey girls."
"Where were you?"
"Saying good-bye to the folks," Joey said with a smile. "My mom wanted me to tell you bye and that if I don't treat you right for the rest of your trip, to tell her and she'll kick my ass."
She chuckled. "Okay, I'll take that in mind."
"Where are they going?" M.A asked.
"To New Orleans," Joey said. "It was my Christmas gift to them. I wanted them to go somewhere fun for New Years."
"Where's the fam?"
"Out of town too," Joey said. "Janine is up in NY with some friends and Steve dropped off Niki at our grandparents and he's spending the New Year in California with some buddies."
"Wow," Natalie said as she put her hands on her hips.
"Everyone decided to ditch ya, huh?"
He laughed. "I guess so."
"We just finished marinating the burgers, so we're about to put them on the grill."
"Yeah, and we have a cooler outside, too," Joey said as they made their way to the patio.
"You guys thought of everything," Mary Ann teased as JC wrapped an arm around her.
"But of course," he said as he sqeezed her. "It takes a lot to master a great cookout."
"Yep," Joey said as he opened the cooler and pulled out a bottle of beer. "And here's the answer. Bud or Miller Lite?"
"Bud," Mary Ann answered.
"Miller," Natalie said.
Joey handed them the respected bottles, before handing one to JC who was in charge of the grill. "I heard JC beat your ass in one on one today," Joey said with a chuckle as he leaned against the railing of the patio.
"Oh, really?" she asked as she saw the grin on his face. "Well, actually we didn't finish the game, did we C?"
JC swallowed hard as he remembered how she felt beneath him. And how badly he wanted to kiss her. When he picked up Tyler the first thing he did when he got in the car was pop him against the back of his head. "OW!" he had winced in pain as he rubbed his head. "Dammit, C what the hell was that for!"
"Dude, if you only knew," he had mumbled. "Put your seatbelt on and don't talk to me."
JC shook his head out of the memory. "Ahem...no we sure didn't."
"Natalie how's your head?" Joey asked. "Any migraines?"
"Um...I had another one in the shower," she said as she looked up at him and when she saw the worry in his eyes her heart ached. "But it wasn't a bad one."
He nodded. "Okay. But your fine now? I see you don't have the boot on?"
She laughed. "Nope it's gone."
"Okay, who wants cheese?" JC asked and everyone raised their hand. "Well, I guess that was a stupid question."
They decided to eat outside at the table since it wasn't that chilly. They watched the sunset as they munched on their burgers and sipped on their beer. After dinner, they decided to retire inside, since it was getting a little bit chillier. They all helped with the dishes, and then made their way to the den.
"You know," Natalie said when she reached in the cooler and pulled out another beer. "We should play something."
"Like what?" Joey asked as he pulled out one as well.
"That's your 4th beer hun, better slow down."
She gave him a dirty look. "Okaay..DAD."
He just grinned and opened up his fourth as well. "What do you want to play?"
She shrugged. "I dunno...something."
JC grinned. "How bout a little Truth or Dare?"
Mary Ann's eyes widened. "Oh, no...I have had such bad luck with this game."
JC chuckled. "Oh, then we are SO playing it," he said and then handed her another beer. "So drink up."
"Ah hell," she mumbled and then took a sip. "I just need to get drunk and I'm fine."
