This regatta shall be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). All competitors are required to wear a life jacket or other adequate personal flotation device while racing.
2. Eligibility
Yachts of traditional design and construction with a minimum of 30 ft. on deck are eligible to compete in this regatta. Yachts will be handicapped by the Jessica Cup Committee based on available measurement data. If you have not previously raced in this regatta, please include any Certificates, Measurement, or Rating Information with the return of this Entry Form. Gaff and Marconi-rigged yachts will be in separate divisions; Marconi-rigged yachts may be divided into two divisions based on the number of entries. If five or more of one design enter, they will race in their own division. Fleet divisions will be determined by Friday, Oct. 22nd at 1720 hours.
3. Entry
Entry Forms may be found on the web site or picked up at St. Francis YC. Entry Forms should be returned to the St. Francis YC Race Office by mail or fax by Tuesday October 19, 2004 to avoid late fee. The Entry fee is $55, less $5 with proof of current USSA membership, if received by Oct 19. The Entry fee is $65, less $5 with proof of current USSA membership, if received after Oct 19. Registration closes for this event at 1700 hours on Friday, October 22nd, 2004.
4. Schedule
Two races are scheduled for Saturday, October 23rd with the first Warning Signal at 1150 hours; and one race is scheduled for Sunday, October 24th with the first warning signal at 1250 hours. A trophy ceremony will occur immediately following racing on Sunday. Competitors and their guests are welcome to attend a Banquet dinner buffet held on Saturday night at 1830 hours. Please plan on making advance reservations through the Race Office before Tuesday, October 19th. Dinner tickets will be $40 per person, which includes wine & beer. Reservations will not be allowed after this date. Thank you for your understanding.
5. Sailing Instructions
The Sailing Instructions may be obtained at the Front Desk of the St. Francis Yacht Club, while an unofficial copy may be found on the web site by Wednesday, October 20th, 2004.
6. Scoring System
The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A of the Racing Rules, will apply. One race will constitute a series.
7. Racing Area
The intended race area will be the City Front, utilizing permanent marks.
8. Berthing
All yachts competing in the event may be moored free of charge at StFYC one night prior to the beginning of racing and one night after racing concludes. Advance notice is required. Please contact the Dockmaster, Peter Clarkson 415-850-1787 with LOA for a Slip / End tie assignment.
