How can you tell if your
writing has a "voice"?
Your writing has a stong "voice" :
Your writing shows your personality.
The reader can tell that you care about the topic.
You "show" the story, rather than "tell" the story.
The reader gets a real sense of emotion from the writing.
Your paper has a good (but not strong)voice :
Your writing shows some of your personality.
Your writing voice is strong at sometimes, but not at others.
The reader only occasionally gets a feeling of emotion from the writing.
Your writing has a "weak" voice:
You don't seem to care about the topic at all.
Your writing sounds like a boring encyclopedia.
The reader gets no sence of emotion from the writing.
You make no connection to the reader.
