A very disappointing score. The score is not as action packed as the second one. The theme(do you know what it is? the one that the trumpet keep tonguing the same note faster and faster) does appear in this score in various places. However, they are not effective as in the second movie. The theme for the villain Simon is the famous classical piece "American Salute" by Gould. You know, the march that pops up when Simon pops up on the screen. The march merged with Kamen's score at few places, but they are all very brief and sometimes unnoticeable. To my surprise, the CD includes the not as related Brahm's Sym No.1 (4th movement) and Beethoven's Sym No. 9 (4th movement with no words but not the "American Salute." The real highlight is the song "Summer in the City" performed by The Lovin' Spoonful. | |
