A somewhat disappointing work of Elfman when it is heard without the film. This 42min release contains most of the under score of the movie. Another catchy main theme by Elfman, which is actually an expansion of a motif that Elfman frequently uses. There are not many memorable tracks in this one. The "Main Theme," "Closing Theme" and "Finale" are of course very enjoyable. There are enjoyable moments embedded in some tracks, like "Orion's Belt". But there are not many of them, even though there is, it is very short. Other than the main theme, there is another soft and warm theme. It can be heard in "K Reminisces" and "Finale." 6 out of 16 the tracks are shorter than two minutes. Whereas his another "sci-fi" score, "Mars Attacks," is more enjoyable. It is certainly nice to have it if you are a big-time Elfman fan. Otherwise, buy is when it is cheap.
