by... me!
OK, so you must think I'm nuts to like a piece of software recycled from the SoundJam realm, stuffed with a CD burning code from some third party, and repackaged by Apple. That, or the fact that I'm writing this believing somebody would actually read it. Not so fast! iTunes is actually a very usable, intuitive (read easy-to-use), powerful, feature rich app' you hoped it to be!
Now, I for one know that it isn't perfect. It has no skinning features, no additional visual plug-ins, and lacks some features you might consider *necessary* for any Music machines, such as DJ cross-fading, album cover support, and equalisers (yes, you heard me). However, I would still consider it the King of MP3 players. Why? Its stable, aesthetically pleasing (yes, even without the 'skins'), well-designed... it encodes, it burns CD's, it organises (The 'browse' mode allows you to sort your library by the artist, the album, or both), fun to watch (G-Force is by far the best visual plug-in out there), blah blah (to be continued) other things: 'feels' right. Its an MP3 player you would use for yourself, rather than just showing off to others. 'skins' originated from Copland The lack of Alarm Clock feature Audion 2 is worth considering. WinAMP coming: Rectangular, often ugly The only thing I didn't like about iTunes was its icon, which was far too plain with just a CD and 3 semi-quavers. Oh well |
