Cyan has been a brave defender of the king of Doma castle for
many years. In the Empire's attempt to seize the kingdom, Kefka
horrifically attacks Doma by secretly poisoning their drinking
water. Most everyone dies, including Cyan's wife Elayne and only
child, his son Owain. Enraged, the honorable knight is himself
poisoned by blind hatred for the Empire and deep guilt at his
failure to save his family. Will he ever regain the confidence
and self-respect he once had? Joining the Returners in their
fight to stop the Empire, it is a slow journey...but one he will
not make alone.
