When you first meet Edgar, he isn't what normally comes to mind when you think of a man that rules a kingdom of people. The crown came to him when he was 17, both forcing him to grow up quickly and trapping a bit of the boy he was inside forever. Now, 10 years later, he comes off as charming and extremely genial...but also an outrageous flirt. It also seems that Figaro and the Empire are allies, but Edgar secretly supports The Returners. It is when Kefka gets word that Terra has taken refuge within Figaro Castle after escaping Narshe early in the story that he makes a call upon Edgar. When she is not handed over, Kefka begins to have Imperial soldiers burn the castle, hoping to flush her out. Edgar then has the castle use its incredible ability to sink into the sand while he and Locke escape with Terra to The Returners' hideout. Edgar now openly fights with The Returners to help stop the Empire and its dangerous plans...
