Leaf Letter Diagrams

Diagrams (2 pages) for the leaf letter. These were drawn by Anita Barbour, who has kindly allowed us to scan and post them online.

Sy Chen Larry Davis told me he learned it from one of the Taiwanese books. I don't have the book to confirm it.

Susan Wettling It's on page 79 of a book that includes only letter folds and envelope folds, ISBN 957-692-005-1.

Janet Hamilton Sure enough! The lady at the bookshop translated the title of this book as "Fold a Letter for You".

Marcia Mau Besides the ELFA publications, I know of only one other publication on letterfolds. It is a Chinese book, ISBN 957-692-005-1 which I believe was printed in Taiwan at a cost of NT$180. I have another book of mainly traditional folds (not envelope folds) which appears to be in the same series, ISBN 957-692-003-5. I have copies of both books but I can't read the titles. Several of the letterfolds in the first book involve cutting, including the rabbit fold which appears on pp 60-61 of Kitamura's Origami Treasure Chest. Does anyone know of other publications containing only letterfolds? I have seen individual letterfolds in Jackson's The Complete Origami Course, Mulatinho's book, & NOA magazines.
