About F.C.C.

Fintona Cycling Club was founded in 1968, in the Eccles Arms, Fintona. The club is based in West Tyrone, in the province of Ulster, Ireland. The club were first affiliated to the National Cycling Association of Ireland, and is now affiliated to Cycling Ireland. Since the club was founded it has had great success, with many of our riders showing the green, white, and blue colours proudly in races throughout the country, we have also promoted events such as the Enniskillen Concorde, which attracted cyclists from across the British Isles in the mid eighties, and the Fintona Grand Prix, which was run up until and including 1998 and saw cyclists from all over the Island of Ireland take part. We also run an Inter-Club summer league which attracts local riders, and riders from neighboring counties, such as Fermanagh, Monaghan, and Donegal.

Some of the club's most proudest moments have included riders being selected for Ulster, and taking part in events such as the provincial stage races of the Tour of Ulster (formerly Rás Uladh), and Rás Connachta, and National stage races like Ireland's premier Junior race, the Junior Tour of Ireland.

We also have had great achievements at underage level, which have included winning Ulster road race and time-trial titles across the age groups at underage level, a 3rd place finish in the National Under 11 league, and a bronze medal in the All Ireland Under 12 Championships, these achievements have been spread over the past 2 decades.

The club also help promote cycling as a healthy, and enjoyable sport for the non-competitive cyclist. We promote an annual leisure cycle every year, and there are Sunday runs which take place throughout the year.
